What would you do if you died?
Darkness came.

No sun rose. No moon shone. Light had died.

The darkness here was not a form of night, but manifested as different dimensions of fog. Elusive, shifting, and enigmatic, the dense air accumulated on all sides of me. I was touched, but I could not touch back.

The other side felt distorted and uneven. Every breath I took yielded nothing. I had no body. My physicality evaporated into the mist that enveloped me.

Where was I? Who was I? Memories of lives past and yet to be lived were available to my mind, yet I could not decipher one lifetime from another. I was not prepared for this moment.

And, I was alone.

The question is not answered because it implies action… "What would you do?"

My answer would be, if I found myself in such an ethereal state of nothingness, would be to scream. As if any sound would come out and anyone or anything would hear me. What you describe would be very unsettling.
