Here's my drama for the month! LOL
I am currently proof reading a finsished manuscript before it's ready to be sent off to the publishers.
I just finished edits on book 2 of my Shared Desires series Sebastian's Submission. I will let you know when it's available.
I've been a little behind on my writing lately. I'm busy nursing a broken heart. I lost the man I've loved for most of my life. He just up and decided that he no longer wanted to be tied down I guess. So it's been a little hard for me to write about a wonderful romance when I'm feeling anything but romantic, but not to worry I'm learning who I am as a person and this person is determined to find a little romance along the way whether it be in person or in my wonderful dreams. We will get through this.
Like you, at one point I had six manuscripts I worked on when I lost the train of thought in another. I finish some, but not all. Some are self published in my book of short stories (www.wildblackberrybooks.com). No two writers write alike, our habits, motivation, our interests guide us. My stories seem to write themselves as my characters take on a life of their own. When they go on vacation or take a sabbatical, I engage another project with the antics and activities of other characters in other manuscripts. I'll look forward to your post with samples of your work.
When I read Isaac Asimov's Opus 100, I was struck by and remember well, that he had "stacks" of manuscripts. He would write on one for a while, and then, if he lost interest in that one, he would start back on another. As a result, he had arrived at 100 books published with his Opus.
In contrast, Peter Drucker wrote in Time Management, that the only way to make progress was to focus on allowing large blocks of time to work on a project, thereby completing in on time and quickly. That tends to be my modus operandi. As a result, I have many published works, both nonfiction and fiction. In today's very distracted living environment, people think they can multitask and get a lot done. They are wrong. My ability to finish a novel is greatly reduced by all the distractions I keep running into.
