Everyone has a cross, a thorn if you will, of some kind in this life. Everyone has something or someone difficult they have dealt with in the past or must deal with in the present. It is just the way life is.
When the mind suppresses or represses experiences and associated negative feelings, it is a defense. It is THE brain’s way of attempting to protect itself. However, stuffing negative feelings can be very detrimental to one’s mental, emotional, physical and spiritual being, as the body,
mind and spirit are all connected through a shared chemistry. Every thought is connected to a mind-body chemical reaction, which, if one is on overload, can displace stress into the body, while dulling or numbing a person’s memory and spirit. In that way, the mind, body and spirit are closely connected through shared experiences and natural biological chemistry.

When I experienced significant childhood trauma and it went untreated, it set me up to be a
victim for life. But it didn’t need to be that way, and that has been remedied. That mindset, even when it is subconscious, can predictably infiltrate and alter one’s physical, mental, and emotional
chemistry on a cellular level, causing illness in mind or body, or both, often through damaging the immune and neurological systems. In truth, there is a huge cost for remaining silent after childhood abuse/trauma as I did for decades. As I grow, heal and learn to embrace my past, live in the present, and begin to take baby steps toward the future, I am finding that I not only like who I am-I am now able to love myself, possibly for the first time.

Everyone has a cross, a thorn if you will, of some kind in this life. Everyone has something or someone difficult they have dealt with in the past or must deal with in the present. It is just the way life is. Once I was able to begin dealing with my own mind-body issues, I began to grow and move on to the greater purpose that God has prepared for me and my life.

Karma Bank to Following By Listening by Chiemi

These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
