Memories of getting my first cassette player on New Year's Eve, and recording my first message by Mommy!

This quote from my late N'Awlins 'Yat Mom brings me back to my childhood … around my age of 10.
On that New Year's Eve Day, I had used my Christmas Santa stocking money to go to the nearby K & B on St. Charles Ave. and Broadway to buy my first cassette player in 1969!
Well, not being a geek even back then, I had trouble figuring out how to record on the cassette player, till I finally figured out to push the Play and Record buttons simultaneously, at which my Dear mother made that famous quote on New Year's Day afternoon … as we were watching bowl games … and hearing the roars of cheering fans at the nearby Tulane Stadium hosting the Sugar Bowl with Arkansas and Georgia!
Mom got so tired and aggravated at me for constantly pushing the rewind button to replay that quote, which she made with an infamous 'Yat twang to it, that she hid it from me later that day!
I think I still have one of those cassette players around… Hidden now. A few years ago when I still knew where it was, I received a recording that my sister made of my younger twin brothers, four or five at the time, singing, I Want to Hold Your Hand by the Beatles. Probably should find it and put it on YouTube. ;-)
