Survive or succumb?
An open-ended title, subjective in scope, I attribute my tail end, in a roundabout way, to Col. Slade from 'Scent of a Woman'—“too damn hard”! I credit the packaging gurus at Kraft for the inspiration behind this memoir.

Whoo-ah!

In addition to juggling all those proverbial lemons hurled our way, daily minutiae has the propensity to add insult to injury, prompting me to lament out loud, “Life is too damn hard!” As I did when trying to open a brand new bottle of Kraft “Fat Free Zesty Italian” salad dressing, expending calories throughout the grueling process.

Peeling back the shrink-wrap in order to flip the cap is no easy feat. Once you arrive at the stage of flipping the cap, you must grip the lip on the protective seal to pry that off. Finally, you’re ready to drizzle dressing over a tossed salad with all the trimmings which has demanded its own preparation time.

How about those assembling instructions?

Not mechanically inclined to begin with, I require clarity as opposed to ambiguity for diagrams and directions. In order to successfully put together a pedestal stand fan purchased for my exercise station—tongue in cheek—“in a few minutes without tools,” I opted to abandon the manual and You Tube it.

Whoo-ah!

In hindsight, the demo explaining the difference between “straight end” and “flanged end” on the extension pipe enabled me to assemble the fan “in a breeze”!

In retrospect, having gained enough self-confidence to persevere, the next acquisition to assemble struck me as simple in comparison—a combination reading/torchiere floor lamp! Touche! The second pipe-fitting time around, I figured a way to tug on the wire so the length would be long enough to plug into a wall socket.

Life is too damn hard! However serious or superficial our struggles, it comes down to surviving or succumbing.

Filled with good laughs, but serious in its own way. Having spent my life around technical types, they certainly have a way to complifacate things! Now imagine it with paralyzed hands and fingers that don't move or grip.

The more they try to make it childproof, the more easily they will get in.
