How to Organize Society From Top to Bottom

Chapter `15

Well the last chapter has an number of examples plus Youtube videos you can view.

Since the goal is to reduce and end inequality in American society, each property would be sold at self-assessed values and 7% of the proceeds go back to the public in the from of income at about 24,700 dollars a year.

A second proviso in this plan would be that since inequality in our society comes from 100 individuals owning over 62 percent of the wealth in our society coming to them from their holdings in stocks and bonds at interest.

They would be limited to a single industry to curb across the board monopolization in a single or global industries.

And over time with the rate of taxation each time the property changes hands more and more property and property sizes would either become smaller and increased public benefit would go up with the taxation rate proceeds going up as well; property churning would benefit the public as well and property holdings would go down as well.

For example if I sell this sell assessed property, pay the 7% tax and this happens several times a year and I am also limited to a single industry, then my personal ownership would go down and more and goes into the hands of the public and could be managed publically not privately.
This is model for Medicare and Social Security which have little or no complaints in how they are managed, have no profits to feed investors siphoning off proceeds. Both programs have millions of recipients and have been there for years.

The model I favor is the North Dakota model after the auction process is completed wherein the profit motive is taken entirely out of the equation. This model has been in operation for over 50 years.

An objection I hear is that private property is reduced or there would be no buyers for private property, which is the point in the first place.

Private property owners would be gradually reduced over time.

See videos on these points and their other arguments on these points.

To make things simple we simply tax the super rich, take away their bases of power and return property to the public, the middle class and the poor. These are mechanisms to do just that.
The tax rate could be 10 percent as properties are sold, or we can tax financial tranactions on Wall Street, the effect would be the same.

Tomorrow we come back to evaluate these ideas and others.

I watched one of the videos and found that I was listening to a lecture by an economist. While he may have used a chalkboard or other devices to illustrate his theory, the video you gave me did not have those aids to comprehension that are so necessary for illustrating monetary matters like you are describing. So, the principle without the proof by careful delineation of the numbers, falls short when convincing the public that Henry George's ideas could be proven to work out in the general terms that you describe when it comes down to specifics.

You discuss this principle repeatedly, but give no way of "organizing" people to get it done. We the people must agree on something before we will go ahead with it.
