My name is Sapphire Ronee Pearson, and I am 14 years old (and am the oldest girl in my family). I live in Fort Worth, Texas, with my parents, Milton and Phoebe, and my brothers Ashton and Brandt. We also have six adopted kids in our family.
Of the adopted kids, three are girls (Hayleigh--6; Jordan Kyung--9; and Miracle Faith--11), and the other three are boys (Henry--8; Jamar--10; and Malik--11; Malik so happens to be a twin to Miracle). All of these kids are special-needs; all are physically disabled; and one--Miracle--is profoundly mentally retarded. She is more like an infant than a girl of 11, and she requires a lot of hands-on medical care.
In addition, there will be two more kids joining our family in a few months, but our paperwork to adopt these two isn't done yet; so until it is, the two girls (both are sisters) have to stay with a foster family in Tennessee. We are looking forward to that day, when Hanh Ly and Linn Chan can join our family! (We have pictures of them and their foster family, and we have talked to the two girls on the phone; so it's not like we HAVEN'T communicated with them or haven't seen what they look like, for pete's sake!)
An interesting side note, while I am thinking about our sisters to be and their foster family: one of the kids in the family where Hanh Ly and Linn are staying is named Ronee, too! But she spells it the French way: R-O-N-E-E'. Like Renee', except her name is RONEE'.
Anyway, back to what I was saying: I am in the 9th grade (first year of high school), and I am busy with playing girls' basketball. I also love to play the clarinet in the school band, and I love to write in my journals when I have some free time. I am a good kid, and I am glad that I have the family I do because they support me in whatever I wish to do; and they never belittle or make me feel bad. I am indeed blessed!
