Today is Voting Day—an extremely important election that will decide the direction of our country for years, even generations, to come. I am not here to tell you who to vote for. This is America, and voting is a very personal decision. However, after much praying for discernment, I have decided to vote for what is most important to me: My faith.

This is an election like no other in our history, as our freedoms hang in the balance. The first amendment, which is very much about freedom of speech, and especially religious freedom, is front and center on the chopping block, due to the emergence of dominant, far-left leaning ideologies. Choosing our country’s leadership can be daunting, especially in these times of distorted media, but we must make a life-giving choice for the future of this country.

This election is far more than choosing who we like the best. There is too much at stake to treat this election like a high school popularity test by choosing the candidate we like best based on their personality. For me, it is about the preservation of what is good and right and true . Yes, both candidates are clearly serious flawed individuals. One is actually likeable, the other perhaps not so much. If you really want to know what each really stands for, beyond news propaganda, simply Google their political records & history. Talk is cheap, but actions are most telling. I found my own online research easy to do, and learned a lot. I knew I couldn’t depend on main steam news for this information, as journalism is all but dead these day. It is almost exclusively op-eds posing as journalism.

 After doing my due diligence, my internet research, I concluded that I would vote for the candidate who:

1)     1)  Is most in keeping with my personal faith beliefs.

2)     2)  Upholds the basic civil rights, and God-given basic right to be born. 63 million babies have been killed via abortion since it became legal in 1973.

3)      3) Also upholds the right to die a timely death, and rather than euthanasia or assisted suicide.  One candidate and his running mate have the most pro-abortion ticket that has ever run. The other candidate has been a tireless Pro-life advocate. I choose life.

4)     4) Has consistently and boldly supported the constitution and the first amendment including and religious freedom—our most telling ‘gateway freedom.’

5)      5) Is against far-leaning progressive Socialism, the precursor to Marxist Communism. One must only look at China, Venezuela or Russia to see the ravages of Marxist Communism. These two types of ‘government’ have all been proven disastrous, sending people into a state of submission, poverty, and severely restricting religious freedom.

6)      6) Stands up against censorship of every kind, already occurring as I write this. Selective censorship is a lawless attempt to divert and derail freedom of speech.

7)       7) Stands against the party that openly shouts racism at every turn, but has the longest history of racism as evidenced by supporting segregation, and promoting dependence on the governmental welfare system. This system provides welfare for those living in abject poverty, but only if they are single parents, thereby abolishing the family.

8)      8) Promotes lawfulness, rather than lawlessness. The candidate that decries violent groups such as Antifa who are rioting in the streets, as they pose a major threat to citizen’s safety. They also are distracting from the much-needed ongoing dialog and reforms that need to happen for racial equality and real change in America.

Again, this is not to tell anyone who to vote for. Everyone has to vote according to their own conscience. I pray for all who read this who are voting today, and this country that we dearly love. God Bless America!
