When It All Comes Crashing Down

With the bus crash occurring and most of the Philadelphia Diamonds players, coaches and management being wiped out, the team was going to need to be rebuilt. Team owner Franklin Metscher was going to need someone qualified to be not only the general manager , but also an expert field manager too. The most logical choice was the manager of the team that lost to the Philadelphia Diamonds the week before. Franklin Metscher decided to pursue Bill Falstaf for the rebuilding process, especially since he had hired Bill Falstaf 11 years earlier in November of 1994 for the positions of co - general manager and team field manager for a team that was mired in last place and within 3 years had the Diamonds playing in the championship series and winning it all.

While during a long playing career Bill Falstaf had been named the team manager for the Washington Eagles following the passing of long time manager Daryl Franklin, reviving the team and a return to the championship winning teams that he had been a part of as a player and winning 3 pennants in 5 years. He then went on to become co - general manager and field manager for the last place dwelling New york Majestics turning the team around in 2 years leading them to 4 pennants in 5 years. Bill Falstaf then returned to the Washington Eagles,where again he was co general manager and leading a team that had become cellar dwellers in the Eastern Division of the American Conference League and immediately turned the team around and winning 2 pennants in 3 years. Afterwards he went onto the Philadelphia Diamonds, where once again he would become co general

mana ger and also field manager of a team in the Eastern Division of the American Conference League where he would revive a team of with a great history winning in the past, only to have finished at the bottom for a decade and turning another team into a contender in 2 years and winning the pennant in 3 out of his last 4 years that he was there. After that successful tenure Bill Falstaf returned to his hometown of Baltimore to lead the Clippers of the Eastern Division of the National Conference League that had moved from Philadelphia to Baltimore but had never been a contender and finishing mostly year after year with a losing record again becoming co general manager and field manager and once again working his magic that he had become known for and in 3 years turning the Clippers into a contending powerhouse, winning 100 games or more in each of the last 3 years.

But word got out that Bill Falstaf was leaving the Baltimore Clippers to return to Philadelphia, the arrogant and dictatorial baseball commissioner Cameron Stanwyck ruled that he was not allowing Bill out of his contract with Baltimore and would have to stay there until the end of the next season before he would be allowed to switch teams. In the meantime Philadelphia Diamonds owner Franklin Metscher had no choice and he ended up hiring the team bench coach Bob Beake as the manager until Bill Falstsaf would be available. Franklin Metscher also decided that he would assume the general manager duties for the upcoming season. 

Unfortunately the rebuilding process was going to be treading water for the foreseeable future.
