When It All Came Crashing Down

Having returned from a team spring training game in Orlando, Florida with the Pittsburgh Gold Sox’s, Rick Randolph was relaxing in his rented apartment suite when his cell phone started ringing. On the other end of the phone call was on Rick’s friend Martin Karre who was calling to give Rick the details of Alicia Reynolds’s trial in Las Vegas, Nevada. Rick told Martin that he had heard about the details of the sentence, the TV cable news. Martin responded saying, “yes, the judge felt that Alicia was the ringleading instigator of the riot and the resulting damages, that the 3 accomplices were apparently egged on by her”. Continuing, Martin giving the details of the sentences said, “the 3 accomplices with her were just given 2 month sentences apiece because he felt that Alicia had led them on and encouraged them to join her. 

Continuing, Martin added, “the judge then gave Alicia a 2 month sentence, upon release she will be reporting to a halfway house for a 2 month sentence, then after that she will have to spend a year at home and is not allowed to leave the premises and will have be given an ankle monitor to keep track of her whereabouts. She will probably serve her time at her parent’s house so they can keep an eye on her so that she doesn’t violate the rest of her sentence and and stays out of trouble her parole will come to an end”. 

Rick Randolph said to Martin Karre, “do you think that she will be able to stay out of any trouble”. Martin responded, “the judge apparently sensed 

Alicia had a serious problem and that’s why she has ro stay at her parent’s house for a year, and apparently it was her parents who petitioned the judge to give her the homebound part of the sentence because they were fearful that she would “act out’ again”. Adding more, Martin Karre said “apparently Alicia’s parent’s felt that she had been approached and compromised by a sinister group of people and they are going to try to help her get her life back on track and resurrect her damaged singing career”. All Rick could say was “wow, so it’s that serious”, to which adding “I never saw any sign of this coming, I never got any hints that she was associating with any people like that, she always has had “the girl next door” image and persona”. Martin Karre responded by saying “Dianne and myself are going to have to get involved and help her stay out of trouble, but unfortunately the dye has been cast and it could be a long road ahead for her”.

Rick Randolph thanked Marin Karre for calling and giving him the information, as disturbing as it was and ended the phone call. Rick’s thoughts were set off after hearing what Marin had said and kept wondering how someone with a squeaky clean image could end up getting involved with people of a sinister nature and still come off appearing like the sweet girl living next door to you.
