A Meeting That Would Make Music History

Michael Walker met up with Daniel Gennings at the Mid County Golf And Country Club in Springfield, Delaware County, Pennsylvania where Michael and Denise were members.

Daniel Gennings walked into the Mid County and was spellbound at how  posh looking the restaurant club appeared. Meeting up with Michael Walker and shaking hands, Daniel spoke in awestruck wonder how a building from the colonial period could look so modern, asking Michael when was it built, “It was built in colonial times, I believe around 1780, but it has been refurbished and remodeled over the years.” Daniel responded, “It doesn’t look like anything from the colonial period at all”.

Michael Walker then got to the point and said, “OK, let’s find a quiet place to sit down and discuss if you’re interested in this deal”, so they ordered some drinks and appetizers first before they began their discussion.

Daniel Gennings started off asking Michael Walker about what he had in mind referring to the collaboration. Michael answered Daniel by saying, “For starters I wanted to know if you were interested in becoming a vocal duo, putting out our own music and doing road tours, so how does that sound to you”. 

Daniel was in awe and gushing once again and said, “You actually want me to be your composing and performing partner”.

Michael responded by saying, “I really would not want to do it with anyone else other than you”.

Daniel asked Michael a question, “So, just me and you, just a vocal duo”. Then Daniel asked, “Did you consider a duet with your wife, or even a vocal trio with the three of us?”.

Michael was shaking his head and said, “Actually I have asked her that question several times recently and each time her reply was no, and her feeling was that you and I would make a great vocal duo.

All Daniel Gennings could say was “Wow, I am very honored”.

“OK” Michael said, “Then it’s a deal”. And with that they clanked their drinking glasses and both said “Cheers”.

Then Michael said to Daniel, “Let’s get this going. I think that the best way to go about this is that we should write a couple of songs, get them out on the airwaves in the radio markets, then afterwards we can work towards putting together a compilation of songs on a CD and then set up a concert touring schedule.

Daniel excitedly responded, “OK, I am completely all in with this, let’s get this rolling”.
