On The Turnpike To The Steel City

First thing on a Spring Friday morning in April, Ryan Davies headed out and rented a passenger van in preparation for the trip to Pittsburgh, for Saturday night’s performance at Gold Sox’s Stadium.

Late in the morning, Michael Walker and Denise Stanley arrived, unpacked their gear and luggage into the van, then a few minutes later Daniel Gennings arrived and he unloaded his gear and luggage into the van. Ryan Davies and Kim Mathais had already loaded up their gear and luggage and Ryan asked everyone if they were ready and everyone affirmed that they were.

At noon time they headed out for the Mid County Turnpike and once they reached Plymouth Meeting, and continuing onto the Pennsylvania Turnpike and the 6 hour road trip across the Keystone State to Pittsburgh.

Michael Walker asked Daniel Gennings why Felicia Falsington had not come along. Daniel answered Michael’s question saying that Felica’s parents were celebrating their 35th Wedding Anniversary and that she had planned the party, saying that otherwise Felicia would have come along.

Having passed Harrisburg, the state capital, they traveled through the Susquehanna Valley, the beautiful peaks of the Blue Mountains, the tunnels that were bored through the Appalachian Mountain range, the Laurel Highlands and onto the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.

After a long 6 hour, 310 mile cross state trip, they arrived in Pittsburgh, at the Pittsburgh Convention Center Hotel And Conference complex.

After finding a parking spot in the complex’s parking garage, Ryan Davies headed for the hotel customer service desk to check in the crew for their hotel suite. Ryan Davies found a luggage cart and rolled it to the van and everyone loaded up their gear and luggage and headed to the elevator to their suite and unload their gear and luggage. 

Ryan Davies asked everyone if they were hungry and ready for dinner, and everyone enthusiastically said yes. So they all headed back down the elevator to the hotel’s nationally renowned posh restaurant.

After the group finished their dinner, they headed back up the elevator to their floor to settle in their suite, to relax for a while and then prepare for a night’s sleep so that they would be well rested for the following day’s events.
