Back from the beauty shop: For an old broad… Marsha thought...you’re looking pretty good.
Standing nude before a full length mirror, vigorously shaking her head from side to side, she watched as her long, white, naturally curly hair fell into place loosely framing Marsha's lightly age lined face.
Thinking of tomorrow. Knowing that tomorrow she will once again be with Mitchell.
Once again loving Mitchell...
Marsha watched as the mere thought of once again being held by Mitchell…
Marsha watched as her sensitive nipples ‘involuntarily’ tightened into minute pyramids of coarse, dark brown flesh.

In bed. Before sleep coming.
Yeah, mid-seventies is old but it’s all in the way one feels and looks and, other than occasionally forgetting what I’m talking about in mid-sentence and occasionally needing a bathroom every half-hour or so – still having most of my hair, although it is now more gray than black. My face is... for some unknown reason my face is fairly wrinkle free and, other than some hanging flesh beneath my chin and more of a belly than I’d like, I think I look pretty much as I did last time she saw me.
The thought of being with Marsha at, more than likely this same time. As more than likely laying together, nude together once again…
Mitchell sensed something he hadn’t witnessed in years as his suddenly turgid penis ‘involuntary’ found its way through the fly of his pajamas.
Chicago, Illinois
4:45 AM (Central Standard Time)
The alarm not having to jar Marsha awake, as she’s been in a semi-slumber for most of the night.
Getting out of bed. Into the shower.
Fighting her naturally curly hair for most the years of her life, thinking, Should have done this years ago, as she shampooed her hair that would dry with a brisk towelling and a number rapid head shakes that would then form a halo of curly white hair about head.
The Chicago temperature on this early mid-March morning standing at a cold forty degrees, while Las Angeles temperature was reading in the low to mid seventies for this day.
Knowing she could wait in the downstairs entryway until being picked up, then deposited directly in front of the ‘American Airlines’ entrance, Marsha wore the light-weight jacket to the three piece, light, lime coloured ‘decorator’ slack suite she had picked to wear for her trip to, and the meeting of her… ? Husband? Marsha thought.
5:35 AM (Central Standard Time)
One large suitcase and her ‘carry-on’ at her side when the airport shuttle pulled to the curb.
7:05 AM (Central Standard Time)
‘American flight LA 5173’...
Handing her boarding pass to an attendant, boarding the plane, Marsha Lipensky found her assigned ‘window’ seat five aisles aft the wings, as Mitchell had once – ‘many’ years ago told her this was the safest place to be if the plane should ‘God forbid’ crash.
Attempting to shove her ‘carry-on’ into the compartment above the seat, a young man – about fifty years old said… “Let me help you pretty lady.” as ‘accidentally’ rubbing his front against Marsha’s back as, taking the ‘carry-on’ from ‘the pretty ladies’ hands, the man easily shoved it into the compartment.
Knowing the man’s tone of voice, along with the purposeful contact of his body. Knowing that his simple statement was the opening line of a possible ‘flirtatious’ conversation’ which she wanted ‘no’ part of.
However reaffirming Marsha’s belief that even at her age, men still found her attractive.
“Thank you, ‘sonny’.” she said dismissively as, turning away, squirming between the man on the aisle seat and the back of the forward seat, Marsha dropped onto her window seat.

Awaking on his own, Mitchell’s first thought was of Marsha and that he would be seeing her in…
Glancing at the ‘Baby Ben’ on his nightstand – if the plane’s on time… he thought… I’ll be seeing Marsha in about four hours.
Having mentally laid his plans out for this day, before taking his shave and shower, going through his home, Mitchell made sure everything was clean and tidy – and that wasn’t too difficult to do as his three ladies had been by earlier in the week to be sure that everything was ‘clean and tidy’.
Going into the ‘guest room’, as – because no one ‘ever’ slept there, the sheets and pillow cases hadn’t been changed in… Jesus! Not since Lita made the bed twenty-four years ago.
Stripping the bed of the blanket, sheets and pillow case, then rummaging through the – Another advantage of his simple life, there were only two sets of bedding he used and one was always waiting in the washing machine.
Rummaging through the linen closet, he came up with a matching set of a queen size fitted sheet and two pillow cases. The blanket was shaken and replaced onto the bed…
Although all in the guest room was ‘very’ hopefully moot, as he hoped they’d be spending the night together, in his room – which could be considered as ‘romantic’ as his room overlooked Westlake Lake , and if there was a full moon?
Making a final inspection of the kitchen and family-room and finding all – within his capacity of a bachelor to be ‘ship-shape’...
8:12 AM (Pacific Standard Time)
Stripping out of his pyjamas, he dropped them into the dirty clothes hamper in his walk in closet, then padding bare-foot to the bathroom and – wanting no ‘nicks’, he very carefully shaved…
Stepping into the shower stall; showering, giving extreme care – though he ‘always’ did – to his genital and rectal areas, because, tonight….?
Out of the shower, drying himself, Mitchell recalled that there was one men’s cologne that Marsha liked. Searching the medicine cabinet, sure enough. Looking at the fancy bottle, Got to be at least thirty years old. Nervous about using a thirty year old cologne, without taking a dab, he replaced it in the cabinet.
Using a lightly scented, aftershave, Mitchell then dressed in a pair of light grey slacks, a black open neck shirt and a light weight, yellow poplin jacket.
9:10 AM
Having plenty of time before heading to the airport, and wanting to get the car washed before driving to Las Angeles International air port to pick up his…? Wife?
Stan Abrams was in the habit of purchasing a new ‘Lincoln Continental’ every seven years trading the old– plus cash for a new one.
In 2007, when Stan went to purchase a new 2007 Lincoln Continental, Mitchell– knowing how well Stan had maintained the year 2000 Lincoln, had offered to buy it.
As best friends, selling the car to him for three hundred dollars below ‘blue book,’ Mitchell Lipensky became the owner of a ‘like new’, year 2000 Lincoln Continental.
Having plenty of time before heading to the airport, and wanting to get the car washed before driving to ‘Las Angeles International’ to pick up his…? Wife?
10:40 AM
Traffic light at this time on this morning. Parking the Lincoln in the airport parking lot adjacent American Air Lines ‘arrival’ entrance at 10:40.
First purchasing a cup of coffee, Mitchell sat in the second row of vacant chairs in ‘American Air Lines’ arrival section.
11:o5 AM
Surrounding chairs filled as more and more people arrived awaiting the arrival of ‘American’ LA 5173.
As people stream about him: What the hell am I doing here? An obese woman sitting on the neighbouring chair causes Mitchell to move to his right, allowing the woman more room, as becoming more and more apprehensive as the minutes tick closer to the ‘arrival.
I was happy! Everything was going just fine. What the hell do I need her back in my life for?
‘Milt’! Is Marsha going to replace Milt? Is that why I agreed to her coming?
What the hell does she even look like? I know women years younger that look like hags.
In Mitchell’s mind he still sees Marsha as the last time he’d seen her: Chasing after the ‘Red Cap’ with her luggage. Her face showing nothing but disgust for him, then, as she ran after the ‘Red Cap’, her long black hair streaming behind her.
11:32 AM
Watching as the buildings and streets and cars became larger, Marsha closed her eyes as she felt the shock of ‘ ‘American’ LA 5173’ touching down.
Opening her eyes as the blur of cracks in the runway solidified and then came the long stretch of concrete as the plane reversed the engines slowing it as… Slower… Slower…
11:40 AM
Within flight ‘American LA5173’.
“Ladies and gentleman…” a male voice coming throughout the plane’s cabin “... please remain seated until the plane comes to a complete stop. On behalf of our captain and crew, ‘American Airlines’ want to thank you for flying ‘American’ and wish you a pleasant stay in Las Angles.”
11:43 AM
From inside the waiting area:
“Ladies and gentleman…” came a female voice over a loudspeaker “... ‘American’ LA 5173 arriving at gate nine.”
11:43 AM
Inside the plane, sitting towards the rear, Marsha waited as a stream of passengers shuffled by, then as they departed, stepping into the aisle, about to reach upward to retrieve her ‘carry on’, “Here, ma'am…” the man that had helped secure the carry on before the plane departed Chicago “… let me help you.”
Thinking, Because I’m an old ‘doddering’ woman? Rather liking her earlier thought – that at her age, a man still found her attractive. However now just trying to be helpful, “Thank you!” Taking the bag from the man’s hands, Marsha started up the aisle.
11:50 AM
The people awaiting the discharging passengers of flight LA5173 crowding about the ‘Arrivals’ gate.
Still in a ‘buyers remorse’ mood over the emanate arrival of his ex-wife, standing, Mitchell stood far to the back of the crowd of people milling before the ‘arrivals’ gate.
People coming through the gate…
Some greeted with hugs and kisses.
Some greeted warmly, and some indifferently and some as though perfect strangers.
Men, women and teenagers flying alone came through the gate… And no Marsha
Looking!
Coming closer to the gate.
Looking for Marsha…
Here coming what appears to be the last knot of people, and among them an elegant white haired woman looking as though stepping from the cover of ‘Mature Magazine’.
Their eyes touching.
‘Beautiful’! Mitchell thought...
Of course not remembering the date which was June 19,1955, when Mitchell was introduced to ‘Rhea’ Marsha’s mother….
Remembering : Beautiful, Mitchell had thought, reminding him of the actress ‘Heady Lamar’.
Also remembering thinking that if Marsha looked ‘that’ good when she gets older!
In 1955 Rhea Goldman was forty-five.
In 2010 Marsha Lipensky is seventy three and between the mother and daughter there is ‘no’ comparison.
“My, God, Marcie!”
Beautiful! Marsha thought. My God, he looks as though he hasn’t aged a bit!
Walking to him…
Coming closer.
Coming to within touching distance.
So beautiful! The back of his hand caressing her lightly lined cheek. “Marcie, you’re beautiful!”
Coming to within kissing distance.
Taking his hands into hers. “You, too, Mitchie!
Within kissing distance...
My, God!
...They did.
