Solidifying Plans

Saturday June 8, 2002

Springfield, Pennsylvania

It was late Saturday morning, early in the month of June. Ryan Davies called for a meeting at his house for all 4 members of of the Keystone Bay group.

After everyone arrived and they were all together, Ryan Davies commenced with the meeting. Ryan started off speaking about the superlatives of the single “You Could Have Just Said No” being number #1 on both the country and pop music top 40 music charts for 3 solid weeks. “We are just rolling red hot” said Ryan and continuing on the subject he added “the radio listening public across the country, no matter what genre they are listening to are just going crazy wild over your music, you guys did a tremendous job putting that CD album together and it really shows with the amount of radio station air plays and also retail sales”.

Ryan paused for a moment, then said, “now I have some very good news that is going to keep you guys busy. On Saturday June 29th, I have signed up you guys to be one of the singing performing acts at the Palmer Valley Music Festival at the park over by Lake Palmer, then, you folks will be singing the National Anthem at the Philadelphia Diamonds, New York Majestics double header on the 4th Of July and will also be performing your songs between games”.

Michael, Denise, Daniel and Kim were all looking at one another in surprised astonishment, then they looked at Ryan in total amazement. 

Then Michael said to Ryan, “That’s fantastic man, so just what else do have up your sleeve”. Ryan responded, “Well, here’s the big one”. Both Denise and Kim said, “The big one?”. Ryan spoke up and said, “On Saturday August 3rd is the Downtown Media Festival and you guys will be split up in groups of 2’s and Ashlee Gannon will be joining us, group 1 will be Kim and myself, group 2 will be Michael and Denise, and group 3 will be Daniel and Ashlee. Continuing, Ryan added, “Each of the 3 duet groups will be singing on a stage in a different section of the town”.

Denise looked at Kim and said, “Did you know any of this”. Kim just shook her head and said, “He’s always on the phone with people, talking to them and making plans, he never tells me anything”. Ryan laughed, replying, “That is because I want to keep these plans a surprise until I spring them on you guys, like I am doing now”.

Michael spoke up saying, “I don’t think that this has ever been tried before, I wonder if it will work or it will be well received”.

Ryan said to Michael, “I think that something like it was tried once back a few years ago when the town had one of their “Dining In The Evening” street parties and the singers were walking along the closed off streets singing to the people eating.

Daniel spoke up asking Ryan, “ Well, who is going to be the MC of this fancy shindig”.

At this point Ryan was laughing, amused at Daniel’s question, then asked him, “You mean that your girlfriend didn’t tell you,”. Daniel squeaked out inquisitively, “Felicia?”. To which Ryan replied, “Yep, Felicia, my buddy Vince Harrington and a special guest, Jeanne Mansfield”.

Michael said to Ryan, “You devil, you, you’re a smooth wheeler dealer”.

Ryan could not stop laughing when he heard that, saying, “I take that as a backdoor compliment my friend”, laughing again, he said, “But moving on I want to ask you and Daniel how work is coming along on your next CD album project”.

Michael responded to Ryan, said, “Daniel and myself were looking over the songs that we thought about using on our next CD and even though it’s great material, we decided to use those songs some other time and come up with new material that would make for even better songs. Continuing, Michael said enthusiastically, “We came up with new song songs that will be far better and also totally different from “Somewhere There Is A Rainbow” that will keep our listening fans highly interested and wanting more from us”.

Ryan then said to both of them, “Do whatever it takes, if you guys say that it will be far better, then I will take your word for it”.

Then Ryan asked them, “And what are the next 2 singles that you want released for play by the radio stations”.

Michael said, “Well, we decided on “Up In The Attic Again” which is a sad song about a woman’s tragic loss, and then it will be followed by a double sided melody “If Roses Were The Answer” and “Baby’s Breath And Roses” which of course is about love”.

Micheal continued, adding, “Then for our next CD we also decided for one of the songs we would do a music video”. Ryan thought for a few moments about that, then he said, that would really be interesting, do you have a title in mind for it”.

Michael blurted out, “Playground”, then added, “All four of us will be on a playground, singing, while we are on different playground apparatus, like the swings, the slide, the monkey bars and the merry go round’.

Ryan looked at Michael, then said, “Whatever works for you guys’>

Then Ryan added saying, “OK guys, that’s enough for today, just keep the creativity coming, looks like we will be number #1 for at least another year or so, hopefully for a while to come”.
