An amazing experience as a runner who got "all choked up" after a race, started to choke and then helped another runner find missing items!

This past Saturday, I ran in the New Orleans Mission's (an outreach for the homeless) 5K race at Audubon Park ... and yes "They all asked for you" - at the Audubon Zoo!" (The Meters: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSZzsWRx_IE)
But what was really spectacular was what a fellow runner found after he started to choke on some of the great food that had they provided after the race, including shrimp and grits!
After the race, when we were sitting at a table enjoying the food at one of the shelters at the Park, I had started to talk to a fellow next to me whom I met, as well as with a fellow social worker Veteran, whose wife had lost some items.
Later, unbeknownst to us, the fellow next to me came back and said he had walked off when he started to slightly choke and had found a credit card on the ground, and he couldn't believe that the name on the card was the name of my veteran's friend's wife - sitting right across the table from us!
And earlier, the same runner had found my veteran's friend's wife's driver's license!
We all couldn't believe it but I told the fellow that hey I know the Heimlich maneuver if needed, but he coughed a little and then went right back to eating the great food!
Important lesson also to convey: if you ever start to choke, don't walk off but indicate you need help!
But he was glad that he did walk off to find my friend's wife's cards!
Great story. Proves that if you walk with your head down, you're likely to find something important that may have fallen from someone's hand or pocket. I recall my grade school friend who always walked looking down to find coins and bills. One time, he found a five dollar bill, worth a lot at Woolworth or Kresge (Kmart) five and dime. But not much in today's five dollar stores
In the last three years, perhaps because a bone growth on my spinal column in my neck, I find myself often choking on my food or having it trying to go down my windpipe. Since my partner/caregiver can't give me the Heimlich maneuver, I have found that if I lean forward and cough, most of the time, whatever's caught in my throat will pop out to be chewed. In the meantime, I have to make sure I thoroughly chew everything I eat before swallowing.
I recently had a CT scan of my neck bones to see if there is something impinging on my esophagus or not. If there is, an orthopedic surgeon may have to remove some of the bone so that I can safely swallow again.
