Authors Notation: Other than those that were actually a participating member or members of the Woodstock Festival, all others are fictitious characters and situations created for dramatic effect, and especially at this author’s whim.

Further Notation: I have no intention of repeating my nineteen part Woodstock series as first submitted on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, but  digging further into the earlier lives of Sharon and Clyde and her Polish immigrant parents: 'Murray and Sarah Kandinsky and his Irish immigrant parents, Malcolm and Ellen Murphy.

Chapter Twenty-Six

Clyde and Aunti Mildy

Betty Hutton’s, ‘Frozen Delight Ice Cream Palace’

Sunday, October 4, 1942

1:51 PM

Seeing the whole Pink’s’ crew here, considering they might want to just sit and talk a while. “No hurry…” Betty said “...sit as long as you want.”

Having something to say, and thankful for this opportunity. “Thank you, Betty.”

“Like I said, Sarah, just take your time.”

Mildred Harris wiping vanilla ice cream from the face and throat
and bib her four month old baby.

Sarah Kaminsky attempting to wipe a smear of chocolate ice cream from the coat of her five year old daughter.

As for as seven year old Clyde, he hadn’t waste a smidgen of his hot fudge sundae and surprising both his mother and father, still remained somewhat ‘go to church clean’.

Murray had been waiting for Sarah to offer the Harris’ the families proposition, but as she hadn’t. “Mildy…” rather liking the way Sharon and Clyde referred to the young woman rather than, ‘Mildred. “...if Oliva and Lester have no objection…” looking in their direction “… and if you’re agreeable, the family…” glancing towards Ellen and Malcolm “… isn’t happy about you and Jymmi living on the farm all by yourself, and we’ve been thinking of asking if you’d like to move in with us?”

Early morning day before yesterday, Mildy had discovered two coyotes attempting the break into the secured hen house. In the past Barry would go out and chase them away by rattling a ladle into a water bucket. But
Barry wasn’t around to chase coyotes away. In actuality she had thought of asking her in-laws, but they owned an eight hundred square foot, one bedroom cottage that wouldn't work out very well with three adults and a baby? Also, what about the farm and ‘Pink’s’ Feed & Grain?

Going on. Malcolm said: “We’ve been talking about adding another room and bathroom that you and Jymmi would live in, so you’d have some privacy.”

“Don’t think this is the reason we’re asking you and Jymmi to come live with us, because it’s not, because we, ‘the family’ really want you to! But the kids…” pointing from her son to Sharon “...are getting too big to keep shut up in my...”

“It’s okay!” Holding her hand forward, knowing where this was going. “I’d ‘love’ it!” Mildred said in all sincerity. “Those two squirts are like mine already, and I’d love to play ‘nanny’ with them.” A bit reflectively, “But what about the farm and business?”

“Watching as an older couple entered Betty Hutton’s ‘Frozen Delight Ice Cream Palace’ and walked to a parfait table on the far side of the room.

“Been thinking about that also. The farmers hereabout… And I’d guess all over, have been asked to continue to produce as much as possible because the Military will be handing out contracts to purchase whatever we produce that is not needed locally. So what if we get someone to lease the farm and continue working it..” Sarah’s business mind at work. “This way you’ll be able to keep up with the mortgage while whoever moves onto your place will be making a living also.”

“What about ‘Feed and Grain’?” Mildy asked.

“It was nice, you and Barry making a few bucks…” Murray said “... but if figuring the outgoing and incoming bookkeeping, it really wasn’t that much of a business.”

“Bet we’d be able to get Willie to take it over.”

“Good idea, Malcolm!” Sarah said “You want to talk to him?”

“What’ll we ask for it?”

“You’re running your automobile repair and know what it costs to fix a
problem, and what to charge for fixing it — You figure it out!”

All… At least the adults about the table still were... ‘always’ amazed at Sarah’s intuitive astuteness.

Listening quietly. “We’ve something to say also.” ‘Auntie Elsa’, holding Thomas Bellingham’s hand upward.

All eyes, including Sharon and Clyde’s turned toward the two ‘old’ people.

“Elsa and me…” Tom said “… we’re getting married.”

Overcome with emotion over Tom’s announcement. Hand held to the soft thump of her heart, Sarah’s eyes becoming moist, thinking,
Thank you Agnes Pink! For without her kindness... All this now. Sarah’s eyes touching all those about the table, and going to Betty Hutton, taking the order from those seated at parfait table. In America now six years and here now three years, and such a family, and such friends and so much else to be thankful for… Closing her eyes. Thank you God! For my family, and our growing family and this wonderful place. Thank you, God.

Standing, going around the table, taking Tom’s hand, and kissing Elsa on the cheek. “In our yard!” Ellen demanded.

“Of course!” Elsa happily replied “Where else?”

Loveland, Ohio

October 22, 1942

Unable to help his Aunti Mildy move the heavy stuff from hers and Captain Barry's farm because Wednesday was a school day. Seven… actually nearer to eight year old Clyde Murphy loved… ‘really’ loved his adopted aunt Mildy because…

One of the local contractors that had been doing business with “Pink’s Hardware and Feed’— long before ‘ the family’ took it over— was a man by the name of Ivan Spinoza that had begun construction of the spare room and bath the Tuesday after the Sunday meeting at ‘Betty Hutton’s, ‘Frozen Delight Ice Cream Palace’.

In the meantime— no one wanting the young mother and baby to live on a lonely farm by themselves — taking what they would need until the spare room was finished, when they’d move the heaver furnishings over, occupying the living room, Mildy and Jymmi had moved into the house at 575 Placid Street.

So what brought about this— in the psyche of the near eight year old boy— going deeper than the love of a nephew for a beloved aunt, on...

12:40 PM

Mildy, Sharon and Clyde finishing the last of their bologna and American Cheese, humbly sandwiched between slices of Viktor Johansson’s bakery quality white bread along with glasses of milk all around when Jymmi, turning red in the face began to wale .

“Okay, my baby!”
For Sharon and Clyde’s entertainment, wiping her milk mustache, taking Jymmi from the highchair and placing him on her lap.”Your turn now,” Mildy said as unbuttoning the top button of her blouse, as, fingers poised to unbutton the remaining five buttons. “Clyde, honey…” asked kindly ‘... would you please go and play someplace.”

The boy’s milk mustache still upon his upper lip. “No…” having no idea why “... I want watch!”

“Clyde, please.”

Argumentatively. “How’s come Sharon can watch?”

“Sharon’s a girl, and it’s okay for girls to watch.”

“So? So I’m a boy!” Stated testily. “So what?”

Never; at least up until now. Never the slightest disciplinary problem with
either of the children, but being a rather shy person, and knowing it just wasn’t right to allow Clyde watch as she breast fed Jymmi. “Clyde!” Mildy said in a tone of voice neither child had ever heard. “I want you to leave the kitchen, ‘right now!”

Muttering, “if Sharon can watch…”

Standing, shooting Aunt Mildy and Sharon a dirty look, Clyde slowly shuffled out of the kitchen.

“Sharon…” her tone softening “...slide the door shut, please.”

Obeying, going to the casement door, Sharon slid it closed— but did not slam it shut — unknowingly, or uncaring, left the door about a half inch from the frame… leaving just enough room for the boy to see through.

Did he really want to watch Mildy breast feed Jymmi? Maybe not ‘really’, but — little boy’s male stubbornness taking control, when told he ‘could not’!

Also…

A little about then twenty-two year old Mildred (Mildy) Harris.

Of average height (about five- five) and weight — when not attempting to lose what she had gained during her pregnancy — one hundred twenty-three pounds. Mildred (Mildy) Harris is not what one might refer to as beautiful. Mildy has dark-blonde, what might be refereed to as ‘dishwater’ blonde hair, cut in long bangs to hide a somewhat high forehead. Mildys eyes are a beautiful bluish-green shade of hazel. From beneath here eyes runs a rash of light brown freckles. Mildy Harris has a small nose and a mouth creased at the sides from a, usually, perpetual smile.

Upon meeting Mildy one might first be attracted to her hazel eyes and ready smile; however, the more time spent with the young woman, the more beautiful she becomes, having a face that eventually one might want to tenderly squeeze between one’s hands.

Generally, if seen walking alongside Ellen Murphy, the instantaneous, though erroneous appearance of the two women might be that of the regal appearing Maureen O'Hara and the live next door, ‘All American Girl’: Doris Day.

...Going to the casement door, Sharon slid it closed— but not all the way and — unknowingly, or just not caring, left the door about a half inch from the frame… leaving room enough for the boy to see through.

Clyde Murphy actually a good boy— actually ‘usually’— and he truly did love and respect Aunti Mildy… So, giving a thought to what he, at that exact moment, thought he
should ‘not’ do… Putting the side of his face to the half inch opening of the casement door, he did do.

Still on the kitchen chair facing forward, Jymmi held upward upon her mother’s lap. In profile, Mildys left side towards the half inch opening, and Clyde’s full view. Her blouse slipped away from her left shoulder, the entire bra dropped below
both breasts to make it easier to change breasts and for Jymmi to suckle…

Was Clyde interested in seeing Mildy’s breasts? No. Not in the slightest. Now, though: Seeing the white flesh of both pregnancy induced large breasts, and the dark, elongated nipple as Mildy changed breasts, the near eight year old boy sensed a…? Clyde sensed a warm glow from deeply within the far reach of his lower stomach. Or, though the realization would not come to him until much later; sensing a warm glow emanating from the heretofore unrecognized testicular area of his penis.

Looking to her left, Mildy saw the cracked doorway and, seeing she was being watched, grabbing the receiving blanket off her lap and covering Jymmi’s head and both breasts. “It’s not nice…”
sharply, accusingly “... being a sneak, Clyde!”

Stung by his Auntie Mildys words. Feeling a sense of guilt for indeed being sneaky, quickly leaving the living room, Clyde remained a distance from Auntie Mildy until dinner, and by that
time the entire ‘sneaky’ thing had been forgotten…

He thought.

A sound sleeper but on this night a dream, or, awakening, the imaginary wisp of remembrance fading from all conscious thought.

Eyes open to the shadowy darkness, Clyde’s mind attempting to bring the lost dream forward, but no remembrance came to the boy’s mind. What did come to Clyde’s mind was the thought that, maybe
the reason he awoke was because— because his penis was in a state of erection— maybe he had to go to the bathroom, which, up to this time was the only reason his…

In the third grade at ‘Abraham Lincoln’ grade school, standing at the boys communal urinal during a morning recess, the boy immediately to Clyde’s left— for some unknown reason— said he called it, ‘his’, not Clyde’s penis ‘his’
penis ‘dickey’.

Consequently, at that time in Clyde Murphy’s young life, having no other name for it, mentally referred to his penis as his ‘dickey’.

1:11 AM

1:11 AM

He is by the toilet, looking down, aiming at the circle of water… But? No flow. Straining... and yet nothing. If I don’t gotta make… holding his erected penis between thumb and forefinger, If I don’t gotta make, how’s come my dickey’s so hard?

Usually, though, if a guy’s got to go, eventually he does.

Steadying his aim, Clyde finally heard the reassuring sound of water tinkling into the water.

Giving it not the slightest thought, because it always had, shrinking to his eight year boys normal retracted size, giving himself one final shake, Clyde flushed the toilet,

Back in the warmth of bed, Clyde Murphy closed his eyes…

Within the flash of the moment between consciousness and the suspension of consciousness, came the flimsy remembrance of Auntie Mildys white breasts.

Sarah not only has an astute head for business, but a soft heart to offer taking in Mildred and the baby.

It was great to see the family pull together and provide for Mildy, for both her and her baby as well as the two children that needed to be close by, by necessity since everyone was working long hours during the war.

Clyde's curiosity seemed quite normal, except his sensual response seemed a bit early for a boy. You made me recall the time we were visiting our country cousins. One was two years older and one was a year younger than my twin brother and I. We had been out that afternoon and discovered something that we had to tell our parents.

Excitedly, we ran into the farmhouse and found no one around. So we all ran upstairs and into the parents’ bedroom. To my shock (Roger and I were about 10), as we filed onto one side of the bed, on the other side was my mother, my aunt and my grandmother. What was shocking was that my aunt was dressed in only panties!

I remember we blurted out whatever it was we were going to tell them, while my aunt appeared to be nonchalant about us being there, and we quickly left, never mentioned it among ourselves at all as I recall. I never looked at the sight of my aunt's breasts as something to fantasize about. It was just one of those embarrassing moments in my life. I remember the image of her clearly to this day.
