The Walking Dead…are among us!
Many years ago, a very popular series hit the tv screens entitled “The Walking Dead”.
Ironically, its debut aired on October 31, 2010, Halloween night, and it finally reached its finale November, 23, 2022, the day before Thanksgiving. Many said, “Thank God it’s over!”
According to statistics, it was one of the most highly rated and watched series in television history.
Its main audience consisted of 18-49 year olds, and the numbers grew each year as it continued to intrigue countless millions with its seemingly far-fetched saga.
It was not a show that I wasted my time watching, as the title of it was enough for me.
I’m not even going to attempt to delve into the message it portrayed or supposedly the reason it was born. It painted an intriguing picture of something which, at the time, seemed so far fetched and yet a possibility until the viewers could not wait for the next episode.
But, as with most things, it ran its course, and life moved on.
Fast forward to the present.
While doing some shopping a few weeks ago at one of my favorite stores, Dollar General, (my most favorite being Amazon, from the comfort of my recliner), I saw a situation which gave me the title to this article.
As I meandered around the store picking up some incidentals, I really wasn’t paying attention to other shoppers.
When I got in line at the checkout, where there was only one clerk, a very thin, frail looking woman with splotches on her face (indicative of meth use), was having an erratic conversation with the clerk, seemingly the wrong price for a couple of pencils she had in hand, and she was trying to rebut the cost. She even went back to where she had gotten them, and came back, with change in hand to pay, all the while seeming to dispute the cost. I was trying not to listen to the conversation as it seemed futile to what the outcome was going to be. She finally walked away, with the pencils.
As I stood there waiting my turn, this title came to mind.
A tv show, which for the most part, captivated millions with its fantasy, I now viewed as a viable reality which we may watch unfold in immense proportions in coming days.
My mind has been bombarded this morning with thoughts concerning this topic, so I will attempt to pen them here in a practical, yet prophetic manner; even though most times I’m not considered a prophetical writer/speaker.
We are seeing them daily…who? The walking dead—yes, they are among us.
As I watched the woman exit the store, she was the epitome of one…not just in her physical demeanor, but it was as if I saw her from a spiritual application.
From her outward appearance, she portrayed one who has very little, if any care for herself, physically, no doubt being undernourished, due to other elements which hold more priority to feed her habits rather than food.
But it went deeper than that. She was, as is countless thousands, if not millions, dead in trespasses and sin.
Ok, I agree, here I am presupposing someone who I know nothing about, and may have a completely misjudgment call altogether. I ask you to humor me a bit for the sake of the parallel I am attempting to draw here from an obvious speculation.
Why God gives me thoughts which many times erupt into a conglomeration of words to elaborate on for a spiritual emphasis, I do not know. And truthfully, I don’t question him WHY.
I learned many, many years ago when He speaks a word or thought into my heart or mind, and then brings thoughts in conjunction to that word or thought, then it’s on me to delve into the possibility of developing it into…a sermon, yet I’m not a preacher, but for the lack of a better word, I’ll use it for now.
A story, a thought provoker, an encouragement, whatever category one chooses, it’s not about a category, but rather a conscious topic which may resound to someone in like circumstances. No, I’m not speaking in riddles, at least not intentionally. But then again, who’s to say how it may be construe d or misconstrue d? I will leave that with the reader to decide.
Mama used to love to take me and my grandmothers to town on a busy Saturday afternoon, pick up some little Jack’s hamburgers, a bottled coke, and park in front of the Five & Dime to eat, and people watch. I reminisce about this so often, and have a hearty laugh every time I do, as I can just see Mama in her comical words and expressions when someone would walk in front of the car on the sidewalk that would cause her to rise to the occasion. She would say, as a bow legged man in tight fitting jeans would walk by, ‘I bet that man couldn’t hem up a hog if he had to.” We would all bust out laughing, and Grandma Hicks, her mother, would say, “Now Thelma, you orta be ashamed of yourself.” And she would reply, “Oh Mama, I’m just funning.” And she was. But, there was a lota truth in her presumptions many times. She’d see someone similar to the one I mentioned earlier, and would say, “She’s on somethin’.”
So it is now, as I am my Mama’s daughter. I see things many times which carry more insight than just the visual. I don’t take it lightly, either, for somehow, somewhere, someone may be needing to be reminded that “walking dead” is a way of life for far too many. There is a remedy, and His name is Jesus.
I am about to give some insight which may strike a nerve, if so, don’t take it personal…unless the shoe fits. But it is not tendered toward any particular person or circumstance, just my opinion, which as a free, white, and 21, natural born American citizen and a born again Christian, I have the right under our 1st Amendment to express. Whether or not it is agreed upon makes no difference. We can always agree to disagree agreeably.
As a Christian now for over fifty years, it amazes me how time continues to bring more scriptural relevance to daily events than when I first believed. Being an avid lover of God’s Word and given to “search the scriptures” as John recorded in ch. 5: 39, it’s astounding at how God opens our understanding as age and experience reveals the depths of God’s love to and for us on an individual basis. As I told someone just yesterday, it usually takes bad experiences to teach us good experiences.
Back in 2020 when the c word surpassed every other ailment as the new trend started, from a lab, no less, I refused to even utter the word, let alone submit to the government control mandate to get the jab, not just once, twice, three times a lady, as Kenny Rogers sang.
My conscious mind took me back to my childhood, when vaccines were necessary to keep us safe from all the communicable diseases of that day. Surprisingly, they were given to last a lifetime, in order to preserve life.
Suddenly, in 2020, which some differ on opinions, and that’s fine, as we have inherent rights, it’s mandatory; churches shut down, preachers compromised the gospel of Christ for the gospel of government, except a few. I will hail John MacArthur as the true saint he is, for taking a Biblical stand and his church had no ppl who contracted the virus or died from the jabs, because they didn’t take them.
I saw a post one day during the height of the controversy of two Amish men, and one asked the other, reckon why we haven’t had the virus? The other man replied, because we don’t have tv. How true !
The church has lowered its standards in contrast to what Paul said, “Do not be conformed, but be transformed”…now they preach the gospel of conformity, the gospel of acceptance, the gospel of inclusion…totally in line with Romans ch. 1. Showing the narrow way Jesus spoke of no longer relevant, but whole heartedly accepting the broad way…which will lead to destruction. All in the name of religion. Well, dear one, religion is of the devil, not God. There is one way, the only way, the truth and the life—Jesus!
I think it’s safe to say now, four years later, the jabs have killed more ppl and continue to do so, as in my humble opinion, they contain time released ingredients, which attack weak immune systems. It’s an intended population controller. Look where it came from—China! Go figure!
One Dr who was removed from any public forums and media stated in 2020, “you are going to see unprecedented results from these jabs in 2025, as they destroy more lives than any contracted disease”.
Well, 2025 is right around the corner, and yes, they continue to push the jabs.
My question is, if you had the virus , if you took the jabs, is your health improved or deteriorated? I think it’s unanimous which one is the case. Come on, common sense…where are you?
I have yet to see anyone, who “consistently” goes to a dr, for a backache, headache, neck ache, cough, sneeze, runny nose, or any other chronic condition who has improved…nay, the opposite.
It’s a huge government infested, money making, big pharma, machine that has reached insurmountable proportions now.
They are producing and directing “the walking dead” literally, physically, around the world. It’s a last ditch effort, a ploy straight from hell, to deceive and destroy as many ppl as possible before the devil loses his last round with God.
The walking dead have no conscience, they have no common sense, they have no control over themselves, they are controlled by their inner demons…sound familiar? I see it every day! So do you!
“Come out from among them, and be ye separate, says the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.”
Do you think God isn’t privy to all the goings on in the world? Just because human beings have decided they know more than God? Where did that idea come from? Satan himself. That’s what got him cast down from heaven, thinking he was better than the God who has allowed him to be in this contest of sorts to prove otherwise. Faith trumps feelings…truth trumps lies…and God trumps evil.
Those who read my writings know no matter how strongly I speak, I always end on a positive note.
Romans 8:28-30 still prevails…God has predestined this time for His purpose. What a time we are living in. It can almost be likened to a duel-
God vs satan -
Good vs evil -
Those alive in Christ for repenting of sin and accepting his Lordship over our lives vs the walking dead who are fulfilling the lust of the flesh in their sin and rebellion, reprobation, damnation, destruction-
Heaven vs hell -
Eternity vs the here and now -
So, I must ask this question in closing, are you alive in Christ, or are you among the walking dead?
We must choose…there are no severally in this life.
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.”
“For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.”
“Only one life, ‘twill soon be past—only what’s done for Christ will last.”
