Another young person's testimony about her accepting the Lord Jesus Christ into her life.
I may not look like much (I am short and skinny, and have mousy brown hair and brown eyes), but I am more than you may realize.
My name is Gisele Margeaux, and I am 12 years old (I will be a teenager this year! Can you believe it??). I live in Nashville, Tennessee, with my adopted family; I was adopted several years ago when my maman and papa died in a car wreck. I was born in France, but I was adopted at the age of 9, nearly 4 years ago.
I have since gotten used to America and American life, but I still miss my home back in Paris: I miss the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre, and I miss the French boutiques and restaurants and stuff. Oh, they have French restaurants here, but it's NOTHING like what I was used to back home!
But that is not why I am writing this; I am NOT talking about my life before or after I was adopted. I am going to write about why my life has been so good for the past year or so.
My life has always been pretty good (I have no health problems, and I haven't been sick except for a cold or the flu; I have been doing well in school, and I have lots of friends at school and in my neighborhood, and I have a family who loves me), but something wonderful happened to me nearly two years ago, and I am still talking about it! I went to my daddy's church one Sunday evening, and they happened to be having a play about the Judgement, as mentioned in the Bible, and it all seemed so real. It was scary, especially when Satan appeared and dragged people to Hell, and there was much drama in this play. Jesus was in the play, too, and it was really powerful stuff!
My brother, Johnny, and my sister, Ronee' (they are now 10, two years younger than me), were both in the play; and they were really good in the roles they played. Johnny played a boy who had drownded during a family picnic when he fell into water after his wheelchair tipped over, and Ronee' played a Christian girl who was trying to get her unsaved mother to come to church; but the mother somehow always made excuses. Well, the boy's family dies, as does the little girl's, and they all wake up in Heaven; and it is the time of Judgement. It turns out that the little boy's family are Christians, while the little girl's mother is not. The little boy's family gets to go to Heaven while the little girl's mother does not. She (the little girl's mother) is dragged to Hell while the little girl pleads to Satan to spare her mother, but her cries were unsuccessful. The child is left onstage, sobbing, and Jesus comes over to her and wipes away her tears; and soon, the two of them go up the stairway to Heaven; and that's how the play ends.
It was really heart wrenching and emotional; and a lot of people made their way to the altar after they heard the pastor of the church speak. I went up too. I knew I needed Jesus in my life, and I knew that if I didn't accept Him into my Heart, I knew I was going to go to Hell; and I certainly didn't want that! So I admitted my sins, and I accepted Jesus into my heart. Now I am a Christian.
Jesus has been so good to me. He loves me even when I do wrong; and if I mess up, I can always go to Him and ask for His Forgiveness, even when I don't deserve it; and He went as far as dying on a Cross for me and my sins, just so I could have Eternal Life in Heaven. HE was the One who did this; nobody else told Him to do this. He loved us so much He wanted to do all He could to save us from sin; and so this was why He was Crucified and died for our sins. Because of Him we are alive today, and because of Him we can now have peace and joy within our hearts; and not be ashamed of it!
I have told many of my friends or kids my age about Jesus, and some have accepted Him while others have not; but I still can pray for them and ask God to change their hearts and to have them come to the Lord. I realize there are many who don't believe in the God I do, but that is okay; that's what makes the world so different, you know? I pray that they come to their senses before it is too late; after all, God CAN (and DOES) change hearts (He did mine!!), and people can accept Him or reject Him if they so choose. This is why I am writing this, to share my experiences with others my age, and give them the opportunity I had when I first made that important decision. I made that choice to accept Jesus, and so did my family (my daddy and Johnny and Ronee' were already saved when we had seen that play nearly two years ago in July); and anyone else can too. It only takes less than a minute; and it is so easy to do, even a young child can do it. All they have to do is confess that they sin and that they need forgiveness; and ask Jesus to come into their heart and life. That's about all there is to it, and it is so simple many people can't believe that it can be done; and this is why they refuse to believe or act on the Invitation from the Lord.
The choice is yours. You can either live with the knowledge that you are going to go to Heaven, to be with God and His Angels forever and ever, or you can suffer eternal damnation at the hands of Satan and suffer more than you will ever imagine. Heaven or Hell. The choice is YOURS for the asking!
it's nice to see young kids getting saved and serving God...i hope many are touched by this story, and accept the Lord as a result...your work is truly blessed, and i believe it will be pleasing to God...great story! (((HUGS))) and love, karla. :)
