M'buti and I are blessed. That is, we have a beautiful, healthy 2 1/2-year-old son named Jubaki Miguel; and just about a month ago, God blessed us with two more little Miracles.
Our Miracles were born on February 14, 2003, and they were a month early; they would have been born this month, but they decided that they wanted to be born on Valentine's Day instead!
Our Miracles are named Eshe Maria Ayala and Kibarake Miguel Joseph, and they weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces (Eshe) and 7 pounds, 6 ounces (Kibarake). They are for the most part healthy, but Kibarake does have apneic spells; and for this reason, he has to wear a monitor while he sleeps. It is a little scary because we don't know when he will trip the monitor; and we are so afraid that we will find him in his crib, blue and not breathing. Poor M'buti is beside herself; it seems that she is checking on her newest son every few seconds; but I keep telling her that he will be fine and not to worry so much!
Jubaki has accepted his new baby brother and sister quite well; and he is always telling other people that he is "a big brubber" and that he loves his little babies. He dotes on them both, and he is always wanting to be around them; and seeing M'buti or myself changing them or bathing them brings him much fascination. He wants to help out too, but we always remind him that they are tiny, so be gentle with them. Jubaki is very strong and tall for his age, and we are scared that he will hurt the twins; but so far he has been very good with his little brother and sister.
So we have gone from just one child to three; and we are at last a happy and complete family!
