Louisiana and her family are in Texas; they are going to see Loretta Lynn at Billy Bob's Texas!
It is THE day: the day where we go to Billy Bob's Texas to see Loretta Lynn in concert!
This is Louisiana speaking. I am currently in our hotel room, writing this on our laptop. It has been a while since we last went to Billy Bob's; Johnny and Ronee' were just little then. They were six when we last went; it's been four years now.
We are going to Billy Bob's because Loretta Lynn is going to be there tonight; and my sister, Florida, who lives in the DFW metroplex area, got us the tickets for the show. We have seen Loretta Lynn many times in concert; and my daughter, Ronee', just loves her to pieces! We do too (although Johnny admits that he would rather see Reba; she is HIS favorite!). The other kids like Loretta Lynn, too, but not to the extent that Ronee' or I do. (Bill loves her, too, by the way.)
If you have never been to Billy Bob's Texas, it is billed as "The World's Largest Honky Tonk"; and there are superstar concerts each Friday and Saturday night (mostly country music). There is also championship rodeos going on, and there are areas for games and to listen to up and coming bands who play there every night. Many people who are now famous got their start at BBT, and many big stars (like Loretta Lynn, Alan Jackson, Mark Chesnutt, and others) still regularly make Billy Bob's Texas as part of their concert tour. Loretta Lynn has stated that Billy Bob's Texas is one of her favorite places to play; and her shows there often sell out. People of all ages are welcome at Billy Bob's, and the BBT staff makes sure that families enjoy themselves while there. Yes, there is alcohol there, but as long as patrons don't over do themselves, then things go smoothly; and most of the time Billy Bob's Texas is a wonderful place to bring families. There are also souvenir areas and places to buy music; and of course, souvenirs from the artists that are appearing on a given night. The place is absolutely HUGE, and one can very easily get lost there!
We are looking forward to the show tonight; and we are relaxing right now because the show doesn't start UNTIL 10:30 tonight! That is going to make for a VERY long day for the younger kids; and to prevent kids from becoming cranky, Bill and I are having them take a nap so they can be (somewhat) rested for the show tonight!
Before we go to Billy Bob's we are going to go out to eat, and then look around BBT until showtime. Then it will be Loretta Lynn time; and we will be more than ready for the show! We can hardly wait!
