"Lord, You are the base, the support, the foundation of my life." October 18, 2001 Thursday 2:30 A.M. *“Leaning On You”* I open my heart and I look to You, Oh Lord, for help in all things. It is my earnest desire to seek You always in all things. It is in the lowest times of my life that I find myself content in the blessed assurance that You are there to lean on. It seems to be that in this state of being that You use me the most. Leaning on You has become a way of life for me. It is the base of my life. You are to me a great leaning post of support. In You I find there to be great purpose for my life. Yet in the frailness of my human nature, I seek the strength to go on in Thee. A newness in Thee I seek to further my walk with Thee. Your presence is as refreshing as the evening raindrops that fall gently on my face. It is raining and I hear Thy call in the still of this wondrous night. I find myself in the place of need for a great cleansing and renewal in Thee. It is in this state of being that I find myself slowly dying at the cross. Oh Lord; help me to give up this human nature. I wish to soar above like unto the eagle who flies to heights unknown. It is only You, his keeper that surely knows his ways and gives direction to his life. As I continue to grow in faith and stature; I see You and it is You alone that works in my life. It is my earnest desire to be totally dedicated to Thy precious ways. How can my life be anymore complete that just knowing that You are there to lean on. I see You tonight in the gentle falling rains, and I feel You ever at my side. Your divine breath I feel in the blowing of the northern winds that brush against my face this night. You see Lord; You are everything to me. Your friendship means more to me than anything else in this world. You say, “How much?” I say, “Enough to deny myself and pick up the cross and follow You, Oh Lord!” This night I have found in Thy presence a stirring moment, a movement so sweet. It is a call that echoes forth in the raindrops that fall so gently. I shall lean on Thee and be not moved by all that surrounds me. I shall find contentment and delight in Your presence. Leaning on Thee always, I find joy…
