Nicole Michelle Aldape, aged 10 1/2, writes of a very sad time in her life. Her father, Arturo, was killed in a traffic accident on Easter Sunday. She is beside herself with shock and disbelief.
I am so upset, I can't hardly see what I am trying to write here on this page.
My daddy, Arturo, was killed by a drunken driver on Sunday; and I am still reeling from the horror and shock of it all. He was just 44 years old. In fact, he just turned 44 last month.
This is Nicole Aldape speaking. I haven't been able to stop crying ever since that phone call from the police, telling us that my daddy had been killed in that accident. WHY did this have to happen, and WHY my daddy? My daddy didn't deserve to die; he was a very good man, and I loved him with all my heart! I was his only girl, and he and I were very close to one another!
My best friend, Ronee', doesn't know about it yet, and I am afraid to tell her, for fear that she may have an asthma attack; and she doesn't need THAT in her life right now! She has been doing really well with her asthma, and I don't want her to go into a relapse! But I know I have to tell her, as she knew my daddy well, and she seemed to like him, too. I just wonder how she is going to take the news, and I am NOT looking forward to telling her that my daddy has died!
All I know is, he had gone to church, but when he didn't come home by 9 that night (he usually got home from church about 8), Mommy got concerned, so she called the church; and they told her that my daddy had already left and was on his way home; but then, a half hour later, the police had called, and they told her that Arturo, my daddy, had been killed by a drunken driver who had run a red light. Ever since, everything has been a blur and a nightmare from which I can't wake up from.
The wake is tonight, and I am afraid to go; I am afraid I will make a fool of myself in front of my cousins, aunts, and uncles. I am also feeling very sick, and I can't hardly eat or keep anything in my tummy. And my arthritis is really giving me fits. I am trying to ask mommy if I can stay home, but she wants me to go to the wake. The wake is being held at the funeral home near our place; it's something like a few miles away. And the funeral will probably be THursday morning at our church, St. Mary's Catholic.
I still can't bring myself to believe that my daddy is dead; and all because of some yahoo.com that decided to go drinking and partying before getting into his car; and because he did, he killed my daddy! Because of him, my life is forever changed; and I can't bring myself to forgive him right now. I am too angry and upset, and all I can say right now is that I hope this person is very happy with himself because he DESTROYED my life!
(((poor nicole))) more trauma and pain in her young life...these read like soap operas, gotta stay tuned! *i mean that in a good way* well done! (((HUGS))) and love, karla. :(
