A mother writes of the things she wishes for her young daughter, who is disabled and has triumphed over great odds. Her daughter is now ten years old.
Dearest Ronee':
These are the things I wish for you today:
1.) That you continue to grow in your spirit and in your physical life;
2.) That you remain the high-spirited, happy-go-lucky child you have always been;
3.) That you continue to tell others about the love and grace of your Loving Saviour in a positive, uplifting way;
4.) That you continue to do well in your school studies, and that you become a big star in country (or Cajun) music and bless others with your special, God-given talents;
5.) That you never give up hope whenever you have a "bad pain day" or end up in the hospital for whatever reason it may be; and that you continue to realize that there are many people who have it far worse than you will ever have it;
6.) That you stand strong in your convictions and beliefs, and not let others try to bring you down; you are MUCH BETTER than that;
7.) That you remain in close contact with your sisters and be proud of all you have accomplished since joining our International Family and NOT be ashamed of the fact that you are adopted;
8.) That you just try to do the best you possibly can in whatever you wish to do, and know that we will be behind you and support you 110%;
9.) That you show the world what you are made of and not worry about what others may think of you; just worry about you, RONEE' LE-ANNE REAUX, and NOT about the other person;
and 10.) That you remain proud of your unique Cajun French heritage and NOT to be ashamed of being a Cajun.
I love you with all my heart and being!
