Two Cambodian sisters with special needs join a family in Texas. This is their story.
It has been a few months, but our family has since gotten used to having two more mouths to feed.
We now have 11 children, the two newest ones being Linn Chan and Hanh Ly, who are sisters from Cambodia. Linn is 5 years old, just turned, and her sister, Hanh Ly, is to be 14 in October. Both are beautiful little girls, and we couldn't be any happier.
Previously to joining our family, Linn and her sister spent a few months in Tennessee, where they stayed with a family who lived in Nashville, the Sanduskys. They stayed there until we could get the needed paperwork completed; and once it was, they then came to our home here in Texas, where we live. (We live in Fort Worth, Texas.) They have since assimilated themselves into our family, and they are learning more and more new English words each and every day.
Both girls, as I said earlier, are from Cambodia, and they came to America only last year. They are also both "special-needs" children. Hanh Ly is visually impaired, and her little sister was born without arms; but is otherwise perfectly healthy. Both are rather skinny and short for their ages, but they are truly beautiful little girls. Linn has short, straight jet-black hair and big almond-shaped eyes that take in everything, and her big sister's hair is very long and also stick-straight and jet-black; and her eyes aren't as big as are Linn's. She wears thick-lensed glasses, and she is very shy; she is as shy as Linn is chatty. She hardly says much, but Linn can talk your ear off if you give her the chance! :)
Our other children (Brandt, Sapphire, Ashton, Jamar, Jourdan, Hayleigh, Miracle, Malik, and Henry) have since accepted their two new siblings and already have claimed them into their hearts. In fact, they love showing off in front of them, and they are always clamoring for their attention. They absolutely adore their two newest sisters!
We feel so blessed to have both Linn Chan and Hanh Ly in our family, and we couldn't have asked for two better children to adopt! They are truly a Gift from God, and we feel privileged to be their family! :)
