My Dearest Johnathon:
Oh, how my heart aches when I see you sitting there, staring out the window, looking for all the world like someone who doesn't have a friend in the world! You look so sad, and it really rips my heart out!
Why are you so sad, Johnny? Did you have a fight with your best friend, Jose'? Did you get into an argument with someone at school or with one of your brothers or sisters? Are you feeling poorly again? Why the long face? Is there anything I can do to try to bring a smile back to your lovely young face again?
I know you are having a very hard time emotionally, and I know thinking about your situation is never far from your mind. How I wish I could change things, back to the time when you were a baby, before the horrid diagnosis that changed our lives forever and ever! If I could take away your suffering and your pain, or even your muscular dystrophy, believe you me, I WOULD! But I am not a doctor, and I am NOT God, unfortunately. I am only your mother, and I wish I could help you through your valleys!
I wish you could just leap out of your wheelchair, too, and run free like all little boys your age should. I wish you could do more for yourself without getting so tired so quickly, or so short of breath; and I wish you had more strength in your muscles than you do. I wish you didn't have to worry about whether you will be gone next year or not, and I wish you could think about attending junior high school or thinking about going into sports instead of worrying about things like your breathing or your other health concerns or worrying about whether someone is going to like you or not because you happen to be in a wheelchair. Little boys shouldn't have to worry about such grown up things, and I wish I could make you little again, before all of these health problems started to crop up!
Life may be very hard for you now, Johnny, but remember this: when you get to Heaven, Jesus will be there, waiting with open arms, to take you into them; and He will give you the biggest hug you will ever know. And best of all, He will heal you of your muscular dystrophy; and you will then leap out of your wheelchair, never to use it again; and your body will be stronger than it has ever been, and you will be able to run as fast as a cheetah, something you were never able to do here on Earth. You will be a new Creature, and you will never have to worry about things like hospital stays, oxygen tubes or breathing crises, or weak muscles EVER again! You will be HEALED, and that is a GUARANTEED promise! And best of all, you will be able to hear and see perfectly; you will no longer need your glasses OR your hearing aids! You will be TOTALLY healed, and you will be FREE of all the pain and suffering you had here on Earth!
This is going to be REAL for you, Johnny, because YOU accepted Jesus into your heart several years ago. You have a Healing Session with the Great Physician, and unlike doctor's appointments here on Earth, He is NEVER closed, and He is ALWAYS able to take care of those who are sick or in need of a Touch! And best of all, the Healings He gives are PERMANENT, and you will NEVER, EVER have to live with muscular dystrophy EVER again! You will be HEALTHY and WELL!
So, if you EVER think for a minute that there is NO hope for you, I am here to tell you there IS hope, if you learn to lean on Jesus. You KNOW He will listen to your heart, and He KNOWS your desires and your needs. And you KNOW that He NEVER backs down on His Word or breaks His Promises! He loves YOU SO much, and nothing makes Him so sad than to see you when you are sad. If He could bring anything to you, He could..and He WILL if you just ask! He is always there for you, even when you feel that He ISN'T, and He will NEVER, EVER leave your side!
Just remember this, Johnny: There ARE no wheelchairs in Heaven. You WILL walk again, and be able to do everything else little boys should do!
I love you with all my heart and soul!
