A new character I am introducing to my growing list of characters I have already created.
Joseph Three Names is his name, and he is nine years old. He is a child who is currently in foster care because his early life was marked by abuse and hardship.
Joseph Three Names is, as you may have guessed, Native American Indian. He is of the Sioux and Blackfoot Indian tribes, and not much is known of his very early history. When he was four, an aunt found him living in squalor in an apartment with his parents, who were both high on drugs and alcohol, and she became concerned. She called the CPS, and Joseph was removed from the home and was placed in foster care, where he still is today.
Beause of the abuse he suffered, Joseph is very small for his age, looking more like four than nine, and he also has some behavioral and emotional problems. He is suspected of having been sexually abused by his parents, but this hasn't really been confirmed. He is very shy and awkward in nature, and he has been found to have significant learning disabilities.
Joseph is a beautiful little boy, with a shock of black, black hair and huge black eyes; and he is very thin in build, which makes him appear younger yet. He looks like he could be a part of some preschool class instead of being in the second grade. He is currently staying with a family in Nashville, Tennessee, and they are trying their best to help him overcome his pain-filled past. They know he will need a lot of therapy and support to help him overcome his troubled past, but they are more than willing to give him a chance.
He is in desperate need of a family who is willing to take on his emotional and behavioral challenges, and he is in desperate need of love and support. Only time will heal his wounds of the heart and spirit, and only time will ease his mind of the incredible pain he has already endured in his young life.

Karen, do you realize how real to life this is????? Native children on some of our poorest reservations live like this because the government tries to force them off to blend into American society. Even then, just like Joseph Three Names, life doesn't change too much. I'm glad I finally found where all these writings are!!!!! Still kicking....
