The power of prayer, and how it changed one family's life.
My name is Morgana Daniels, and I am the mother of four children, two adopted from Korea, and two adopted from Kenya in Africa. I am also a single parent, but somehow, God has always managed to provide for my children and myself.
Take little Trevor, for example. Trevor is our youngest, and he is from Kenya. We just got him only a few months back, and he has had to struggle with so much in life. For starters, he is blind, and now he is fighting AIDS that has left him so very sick and weak. He was abandoned by his mother when he was born, and he lived in an orphanage until just a few months back. Now he is our son, and we couldn't be happier.
Trevor has been in and out of the hospital, fighting pneumonia or other respiratory infections, and somehow God has always managed to help him through the worst of his illnesses, and he is now finally starting to thrive and grow. He is four years old, but looks to be about two at the most, and he has the biggest black eyes one can ever imagine. He laughs and smiles often, and he is quickly learning English; and just this past week, he surprised us by singing a song they had taught him in Sunday school, "Jesus Loves Me".
Our other three children are very protective of their little brother, and they fight to see who can take care of him or take turns watching him; and it is rather amusing to see. Our other three children are ages 7, 8, and 11, and their names are Tobias (the oldest), Trina (our 8-year-old), and the next-to-youngest, Cher'ie Lynee'; and they are so sweet and loving. They all know Jesus Christ as their Saviour, and they look forward to church every Sunday and Wednesday. (We go to New Horizons Christian Church, and it is a Pentecostal/nondenominational church. Our pastor is Mr. Quincey Martin, and he is originally from Scotland.)
God has been so very good to our little family since John (my late husband) went on to Glory; he had cancer, and he died only six months after being diagnosed with it. His death came on swiftly and hard, and it tore all of us to pieces; but somehow, God got us through the hard times, and even though we still cry at times, we all know that he is in a better place, that he is now with Jesus, cancer-free, and we are all looking forward to meeting him on that wonderful day when Jesus comes back to take His Chosen Children Home. And I am looking forward to introducing little Trevor to the daddy he has never met.
We have had much prayer and support from our church family, and also from friends, and if it were not for God and His Grace, I don't know how we could have coped or gotten through the rough times in our lives. He has blessed me beyond measure with Trevor, Trina, Tobias, and Che'rie, and they are definitely Mama's little angels from Heaven!
My life has certainly been full of miracles and joy from the Lord, and if anyone doubts my word, just look at the beautiful faces of my children. They definitely define the word Miracle in every sense of the word, and my life is indeed richer because of them. They all shine with the Love of Jesus, and for that I am forever grateful.
This is the true version of faith. Faith that God is real, and that he really does have a better place for us when we die. If it were not true, he would have not told us so! Les
