A little boy writes why he loves the Fourth of July.

Three cheers for the Red, White, and Blue!
These colors spell "freedom" for me and for you!

We are free because we are Americans all--
Rich, poor, black, white: it doesn't matter at all!

Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Mormon, even Amish--
Oh, if we could just learn to get along; that is my biggest wish!

We come from different lands, but America is now our home,
And because of it, many people no longer feel scared or alone!

So let us raise our flag high and let the bands play~
We are about to celebrate our country's freedom in a very big way!

Parades, picnics, fireworks, and so much more;
People will be having fun on America's hallowed shores!

I know I will be celebrating; July 4th is one of my very favorite holidays,
And I am glad that we can laugh, run, and act silly today!

When that flag goes by, you bet I'll be singing that Star Spangled Banner song;
and I hope people'll join me and sing right along!

I am American, I am as American as apple pie,
And when I see that flag, I feel nothing but love and pride inside!

So three cheers for the red, white, and blue~
I'll say it once, and I'll then say it again to every one of you!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA (a little early, but still...oh, by the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CANADA; just remembered today is Canada Day up that way!)
