The thrill of watching fireworks, as on the Fourth of July, as experienced by a group of children and teenagers.

Conversations between fireworks, if you will.
*with sincere apologies to karla, as i stole her sound effect of the fireworks going off...SORry, karla! LOL
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

OOOHHHH!!

AHHHHHH!!!!

OHHHHHH!!!!

Mommy, look at that FAT one! That one looks just like a huge orange flower!

That is called a crysanthemum. They kind of look like a big, orange flower, doesn't it??

Yep! But my favorites are the screamin' meemies--

The WHAT??

Y' know, maman...Th' ones that go EEEERRR; they sound like they're whistlin'!! Screamin' meemies!

Screamin' meemies...HA! Ronee', you are so funny at times....

I still like 'em! Better'n y'all callin' em fat flowers, Johnny!

Well, you KNOW I can't say chrysan---crysanthammmummmummm...crysantamomm....oh, WHATEVER they're called! Those big, fat ORANGE ones! They look just like FAT FLOWERS, like the kind in our backyard!

OOOOHHH!!!!

AHHHHH!!!!!

OHHHHHH!!!!

Mom, I wish we could have some fireworks, so we could have our own disaplays...

Why? Don't you know fireworks are very dangerous? People can lose limbs or get blinded or even get burned badly as a result of fireworks; this is why it is up to the professionals to shoot them off, as they were trained to do this sort of thing, and with fireworks, one can never be too careful, and besides, do you want to set our neighborhood--let alone, our house--on FIRE?

No, but...it would still be cool if we can have our own fireworks displays instead of having to fight all this traffic and going somewhere to see them. Think of all the gas we'd save---

Oh, no...Nothing doing, Chris! I would much rather go somewhere and see a display done by professionals; you never know what could happen at a fireworks display---

But MOMMMMM----

Nothin' doing! Don't 'But MOMMMMM' me, young man! Case closed! I don't care to discuss it any further!

OOOOH!!!!

AHHHHHH!!!!

OHHHHHH!!!!!

Mom, I can't find Fritzie anywhere! I think the fireworks scared him!

I KNEW this would happen! Willie, WHY on earth did you INSIST on bringing your DOG here to the fireworks display? You KNOW he doesn't like loud noises! Now he's lost, and Heaven knows where he is! Honestly, Willie, you don't have the good sense that God gave you!

But MOMMMMMM!!!!

Don't backtalk me, young man! You know what you have done is very wrong, and once this display is overwith, you are going to search for that dog, and we are NOT leaving until we find him! And if we don't find him, you are going to be in big trouble--if you aren't already!

OOOOHHHHHH!!!

AAAHHHHHHH!!!

OHHHHHHHHH!!!

Oh, boy..here it comes...the FINALE! Get ready for some SERIOUS fireworks here, folks...

CRIMINY!! WHAT A BIG MotherF***er!!

Garrett!! Watch your language! There's kids about! Do you HAVE to talk like that? It's VULGAR, and it is DISGUSTING!

No, but shiiit, what a BIG firework! Big as TEXAS, I bet that one was!!

Garrett, I am WARNING you..next swear word, and you are going to the van! I don't want NO cussing from you!

Mom...

Garrett, drop it! I mean it! Next curse word from you, and you will be WALKING home! Do you understand??--

Yeah, ma...Sorry!

*B-THOOM!! B-THOOM!! B-THOOM!! B-THOOM!!*

*B-THOOM!! B-THOOM!! B-THOOM!! B-THOOM!!*

applause from a happy crowd as the last of the fireworks go off, ending a perfect Fourth of July holiday.
