M'Kaya Jefferson, married for just about one year now, writes to her friends about things that have happened in her life. She is now five months pregnant, and she has found out that the baby she is carrying inside of her is a little boy. She also writes about her best friend, Wendie Jo Malick.

Dear One And All:
Hi! How are you all doing down there in Tennessee? This is M'Kaya speaking; and I hope this email finds you all well!
Remember the last time I wrote (waaaay back in April; SORry about not writing sooner, but we have been getting our place ready for the little bundle of joy that will be soon gracing our home, and that takes a LOT of work and planning!), when I mentioned that as soon as I find out the sex of our baby, that I would write? Well, I found out last month that the baby inside my tummy is (DRUMROLL, PLEASE...LOL) a BOY! We are going to have a little BOY! Of course, Franklin is beside himself with joy, and frankly, so am I! I can't believe that I have managed to carry this baby this far without complications, but so far, my pregnancy is going along SWIMMINGLY! Oh, I had my bouts of morning sickness, but THANK GOD all that is BEHIND ME! LOL
Franklin and myself have decided that the name of our child to be is going to be Stephan Paul William Franklin Jefferson (Stephan because we like the name, plus we wanted to name it in memory of our friend Stephanie Greene, who died nearly 2 years ago on 9/11/01, Paul after Franklin's daddy, William after Bill, as in William Sandusky, and Franklin after...well, you know who! LOL). If it had been a girl, we were going to name her Timberly Nickole, but since the baby is going to be a boy, his name will be Stephan, NOT Timberly! Timberly would sound pretty funny for a boy, hunh?? LOL We also had the name Stephanie Louise (Louise after Louisiana, and Stephanie after...well, you know, after Stephanie Greene!..), but Franklin decided he wanted the name Timberly for a girl, so this was our final choice. That was, until we found out that our baby was a BOY....LOL
Franklin is well; he is now the Director of the Physical Therapy Department at Jonas Bronck Hospital, and he has been working OODLES and OODLES of hours! He is gone so much, I am starting to forget what he looks like (NOT really, but...LOL)! He got a new vehicle; that beat-up puke-green slugbug he had FINALLY gave up the ghost, and now he has managed to buy himself a HUMMER! When I first saw that thing, I thought he was FREAKIN' NUTZ, but HE likes it, so I guess I have to learn to like it, too! It is BRIGHT orange, and it is so wide you could put our HOUSE in it! (NOT really, but the thing IS rather roomy...LOL) THEN, when he told me the price, I thought I was gonna DIE! Over $100,000 for the FREAKIN' thing! I wanted to wring his FOOL NECK for spending that kind of money on a car, but HE likes it, so I have to put up with the stupid thing and learn to like it!
Talked to Wendie the other day; don't see her much anymore. She has moved to Syracuse, New York (her snail addy in this email to you later), and she is living with her grandmother Rose. Wendie has been sick a lot still, and she has been in the hospital a few times because of kidney or bladder infections. The last time she was in, she nearly died, she was so sick, and she is STILL recovering. She is still feeling rundown and weak, and she still is on the antibiotics. She can't seem to shake it out of her system, and the last time I saw her, she was so pale and so thin, I hardly even recognized her. She really looked BAD!
I am getting around good on my Lofstrand crutches, don't use the wheelchair much anymore, now that the weather has FINALLY warmed up and FINALLY stopped raining!
We had a very rainy spring, and it was below normal in temperature; the first time it hit 70 I think HALF of NYC went out to enjoy the gorgeous weather! LOL The stores and parks were JAMMED! My leg hurts some days, but NOTHING like it did; and my M.S. has been kept to a dull roar, thanks to the meds I am currently on! I AM looking for the bottom to fall out, though; this remission from my M.S. can't last TOO much longer~
NOW that you have been updated on OUR end of the spectrum, HOW are things with y'all? Mama, are you still getting the rest you need, or are you STILL runnin' around like a chicken with its head cut off? Are you feeling well, Mama?
How is Louisiana doing? Is she still busy at her nursing job, and is she still adopting more kids? I swear, that family gets bigger each time I breathe! LOL So the two little Cambodian sisters are no longer with them, eh? Where did they end up going, and were they even ADOPTED? They seemed like such nice little girls...
Have you heard from M'buti and Roberto yet? PLEEASE let me know what is up with them! I STILL haven't heard hide nor hair from them, and I am beginning to wonder if they are MAD at me! PLEEASE tell them that M'Kaya Mnjama-Jefferson says "HELLO" and to WRITE ME!
Oh, crap...Well, Mama, I have to go; I think I just managed to wet myself again...DAMN M.S. strikes me in the FUNNIEST ways...Will write more later! Love ya!
