Dear Friends:
I am doing much better; I am getting around again on my crutches and leg braces; and my knee is healing. I recently had surgery, and then had a staph infection that put me back into the hospital, but now that I am still taking my antibiotics, I am doing MUCH better.
I am SO glad to be walking again; therapy was hard at first when I started walking again, and besides, my bum was getting so sore from sitting in my wheelchair or lying in bed! I HATE not being active!
It was hard not being able to go outside to play or to go swimming with my family or friends, but now I am making up for lost time. I have spent many a day swimming, and now my knee doesn't hurt NEARLY as bad as it did! Oh, it hurts SOME, but it is NOTHING like it WAS!
In September, I will enter the fifth grade. I found out my teacher will be Mrs. Williams. I hope she is nice, and I hope I do well in my classes! (I always have had a fear of failing!)
I haven't performed since July 4th, but I DID finish up recording my CD. My new CD will be out sometime next year, like in the spring or so; and it will be called "Favorite Songs". It will have mostly country or Cajun, but it will also have one or two pop songs on there ("A Moment Like This" and "Reach"; that one was originally done by Gloria Estefan), and "God Bless America". I will have the pictures done for the CD cover next week.
My asthma and allergies have been behaving themselves for the MOST part, but I still have to take my inhalers and pills; and I still get somewhat breathless at night, so I have to continue with the oxygen at night and do my breathing treatments. That is starting to get to be a pain....Oh, well..at least I am NOT having the attacks I USED to! And at least I am NOT having to go to the Emergency Room every week like it used to be! THAT, at least, I can be thankful for!
Not much is new; I shall write more whenever time permits, or if I have any more news to report. Until then, this will be SHORT, SHORT!
