No matter what people go through in life, God is always there, ready to lend a Helping Hand, even when you don't feel like He even cares.
(Karla had a bad day at work; this led me to write this, but it is NOT about Karla. I am just dedicating it to her; please keep her in your prayers; she can really use 'em right now!)
Also pray for Michelle Kidwell; she is struggling, too, in her faith. She could really use some cheering up! Michelle, you are in my prayers and thoughts!
Have you ever had one of those types of days where no matter what you did, things somehow always ended up coming out wrong, and you only ended up having one bad thing happen after another?
Have you ever had one of those days where you tried to be nice to people, and all they did was bite your head off or give you a hard time, making you feel only about a few inches high?
Well, I had one of those days last weekend at work..not ME, per se, but some of my co-workers. My bosses give me no problem, nor do they present to be a problem to most of my co-workers; but some of the co-workers are just flat out lazy, and they will find any excuse to try to get out of doing their job, and when it is busy, we need all the extra help we can possibly get. Take this past weekend, as an example.
It was time for the annual girls' softball tourney, and a lot of different teams were in town. It was crazy, crazy at the restaurant, and we were all running around like chickens with our heads cut off trying to make up for some of the slack, plus two of the dishwashers called in sick (PLUS the dishwasher itself managed to conk out, making for piles of dirty dishes which ultimately had to be washed by HAND!). There were lines out the door, and two of the line girls quit because "they couldn't deal with all the people", putting us in a huge bind. The bosses were NOT happy, and neither were we. Those who usually worked later were called in, and two of the guys were on their way to work, only to get involved in a car accident (not bad, thank God, but they couldn't make it to work). THEN, to add to all this confusion, THREE chartered buses managed to pull in! YIKES!!
I was busily trying to ring up customers, filling drinks, AND trying to sweep around the bars. I was sweating so hard it was a wonder customers or my co-workers couldn't smell me from afar; I really was starting to stink by the time I clocked out for the day! (I came in at 7, my usual time, and I usually get off at 1, but I ended up working until 4, three hours over.) I was trying my best not to stress out, especially when I saw Kayla and Bridgette walking out the line area, saying that they were quitting. I just tried to put it out of my mind and tried to do my job as best as I could. There were only 2 of us on the line instead of the usual 4 to 6, and it really made for some major moves on our part, trying to keep up with the customers!)
THEN, if THAT were not bad enough, Trish fouled up on several of the orders, and customers were starting to really get irate. I calmly called the one manager over to do the refunds (liners aren't supposed to do refunds), and profusely tried to apologize to the guests, who were now starting to get rather annoyed.
So, between irate customers, kids running amuck or getting sick IN front of the line (NOT a pleasant thing to have happen in a crowded restaurant!), shortage of help, the softball tourney, AND the three buses (with 50 people EACH), and a busted dishwasher in the back, my day was NOT one of my best. When it came time for me to clock out, I was so tired I was ready to fall over, and when I offered to help in the back with the dishes, which were still piled halfway up to the ceiling AND on the floor, my bosses said, "No, go on home; you've already done more than your share! Go on home and rest; you need it!", and they thanked me over and over for helping out in their time of need.
Let's put it mildly: it was WORSE than MOTHER'S DAY! We got ROCKED and then some! Let's face it: we got NUKIFIED!!
But despite ALL that mess, I still managed to pull my weight around at work, even though I was at times near tears; and I managed to provide the help they so desperately needed. I was starting to feel rather stressed out, but I held my emotions in check, and tried to do my job to the best of my ability. I tried to be pleasant, but it was hard at times. I had to act like nothing was wrong, when things were obviously going to h-e double hockey stick. I was starting to feel that God had abandoned me, but I knew He did not; He was still right beside me, even though I wasn't feeling very spiritual at the time. I was so mad at times I was ready to start blessing people out (and I DON'T mean saying "God bless you"!), and it was all I could do to keep from crying or pulling my hair out by the roots!
Even though you may be going through a particular bad spell in your life right now, God is right there, ready to help if you just call on Him. He is ready to help you at a moment's notice, and He WILL find a way to help you get through a particularly difficult time. You may not feel His presence with you at this time, but He IS there, as close as your right hand, and He will NEVER leave or forsake you, no matter WHAT you may be going through! If you just give Him a chance, and pour out your heart and soul to Him, he WILL find a way to help you through your "worst" days! Be it at work or at home, within your family unit or with friends, God is ALWAYS there, and NO problem is impossible to God! He can help you through ALL things if you just rely on Him and learn to trust Him!
At times, it is easy, very easy to get mad at God because you may feel that He doesn't care, or has left you alone in your situation, but if you give up on Him, that would be the WORST possible thing you can do! Just give your situation to God, be it physical, financial, spiritual, emotional, or personal, and let HIM handle it! In time, He will find a way to get you out of your valley, and soon, you will be walking in Joy and Peace!
He got me through that rough weekend at the Golden Corral, and even though that was bad enough, compared to what a LOT of people go through in their life, what I went through was NOTHING. He got me through my weekend; and He can do the same for you! Just call on Him, and give Him a chance, even though you may NOT want to!
Whatever you do..DON'T give up on God! Learn to believe and trust in Him, and give your burdens to Him. He'll help you if only you will let Him!
This couldn't be more timely for me, Life has very been piling it on for me the past month, and I have been really down. Sorry Karla has been having such a hard time, along w/ Michelle, and Tinka, and who knows who else :S
Oh!! Karen I know how it feels....you do everything in your power to keep everyone happy and still get the bad mouth back...
I am never in doubt that GOD will help me...but what about those who don't believe in GOD and toooo damn selfish....will it help if we pray hard enough for their souls tooo...I hope God will understand if I slip up sometimes and just let them fight their own battle.....But for those I love I will do anything in my power and I will pray for them ...and will take them by the hand and lead them to our Gods!!
Karla/karen you my friends and rest asure You have God on your side...just bend those knees darling and you will see,,,okay!!

No one is ever alone in spirit, Karen. You penned that so elequently. Even those we consider of evil, have qualities! Sorry you had to work so hard, but I did enjoy the writing.
Karen, I know these days. I have had them as well.
Great write. Please excuse for having been so lazy lately. Not really lazy, but stressed and not getting around. I promise to catch up on your great work, which I always enjoy so much.
