A story about a little nine-year-old Native American boy who is now in foster care. He is currently staying with a family in Oklahoma.
It is written in his style. His writing is not very good, so please bear with this story.
Joseph Three Names, that is my name. I am 9 years old, I am, and I live in Oklahoma.
I don't know much about my family, don't like to talk about them. What I do know about them is bad, and because of it I am in foster care. I living with a family in Skiatook.
The family I live with is named Thatcher, but my name is Joseph. Joseph Three Names is what I go by. I am American Indian, and I am very proud of my being Indian. I am Sioux and Blackfoot Indian.
I am not very smart, I am stupid. I go to school for dumb kids coz I have problems learning, me. I never be very smart, and it is hard for me to learn fast. I don't like being this way, but I am trying to learn. It just take me a very long time, is all.
I am also very little for my age. I may be 9, but I look like I am 4, should be in kidnergarten. I hate it coz everone be so much quikcer than me, and I don't like being last. But I always AM last, and it makes me sad.
Kids tease me. They call me names, and I cry. I try to be brave when kids call me names, but I am only a little boy, and I don't like being made fun of! I don't make fun of people, why should they make fun of me??
They tease me, too, coz I am Indian. I don't tease them for being white or black, why should they tease ME? I see nothing wrong with being Indian! I am just like any other boy, except I am Indian!
I will writ more later on, my foster mamma is calling me to come in for supper from my play. Come to think of it, I AM getting hungry...

Looks like the beginning of a good story. You've done well in letting us know about the main character right off the bat.

I think at times we have all felt this way, I know I feel like I am pretty much an idiot in the world, but we don't know everything about every subject, as a wise person recently told me. This is a truly amazing story!
