A little girl tries to make sense of an uncertain world; and so she prays the following prayer to God:
|
Dear Lord:
It's me again, Lord: Sunshine Lee is my name,
And the happy world I once knew is no longer the same.
I am only six years old, I am just a kid, a little girl,
And what I've seen, I don't like what's happened in our world.
People hating or killing one another; it is enough to make me run in fright~
I now have bad dreams; it is no wonder I cannot sleep at night!
Buildings being bombed by bad men, men who were trained to hate;
Hate those who aren't like them, especially those in the United States.
Why did so many people have to die that way?
Why did my friend Stephanie have to go away?
Why do people have to fight like angry cats and dogs?
When I think of them being bad, I wish you could help us, God.
I no longer feel safe, and I don't like being so scared~
What if we get attacked again? I am not prepared!
I don't think I could go through that again; once was enough~
What I saw on television that day certainly was NOT kid stuff!
I have to go now, I now gotta' go to bed~
Before I go, please put good dreams inside my head!
Let me sleep at night, let angels watch over me,
And if they do, a much happier girl I'll be!
Thank you, God, for listening to this prayer~
But I am just a kid, and I wanted to know that you care!
This is Sunshine Lee signing off, and this prayer will soon end~
On that note, I'll now say in Jesus' Name..Amen and Amen!
