This reminds me some of a story I read in an old 1990s magazine from Kewanee, Illinois, "Later Will Always Be Later." The magazine is called Plots. I had posted a story up from that magazine on my website a long time ago. It was done by an anomonous writer, but this one is a good write either way -- creatively done.
The fortunate inherit riches, prestige, positive notoriety. Those not so lucky bear legacies filled with poverty, infamy or, worse yet, the unhinged insanity and murderous urges of their ancestors.
