A young person dealing with mental problems and physical disablity struggles to keep a positive outlook in life in light of being fired recently from a job for a crime she did not commit.
Don't count me out, folks.

I may not look like much to you (short, fat, racially mixed, on crutches, and partially paralyzed), but I am ~NOT~ stupid. I happen to be a ~LOT~ more than you give me credit for, and I see the stares and hear the sniggering laughter whenever you see me.

I also happen to have mental problems, but just because I do, that DOESN'T mean I am going to go psycho on you. My mental problems are NOW under control, and as LONG as I take my meds, then I am FINE. ~REALLY!~ I see a therapist every week, and I write in journals; I talk and write out my feelings, so if you can't handle me just because I do have both mental and physical problems, well, then...SCREW you. I don't NEED to be bothered by the likes of you!

I have had it UP TO HERE with people giving me the runaround or the third degree when it comes to looking for a job. Just because I am disabled physically DOESN'T mean my mind is too; I happen to be VERY smart! If you can't accept me because I talk or walk funny or use these stupid crutches, or give me a chance, well, then, it's time to get UGLY. I don't like it when people tell me I CAN'T do things because I am here to tell you different. I CAN do ANYTHING I set my mind to, and if you won't give me a chance, then I can sue your butt for descrimination against the disabled!

I was working at Wal*Mart with my daddy, but then, three months back, some jerko in the auto department framed me for taking some money, and I got in trouble, even though I DIDN'T do it! I didn't even TOUCH his money! So HOW could I have done it?? As a result, the bigwigs at the store fired my butt, and now I have a mark on my job record, and now people don't want to hire me because THEY think I am a CRIMINAL. I am NOT a criminal; I am INNOCENT, and my mom and dad can VOUCH for that! And so can my supervisor and MOST of my co-workers. I didn't do ANYTHING wrong!! I honestly think I was fired because of my being disabled, plus they probably found out that I have a mental illness and am on medication and see a shrink...ANYWAY, I was NOT treated fairly, and I am VERY angry and upset about the whole fiasco!!

Mom and dad were very upset when I was fired from my job at WalMart, and right now, they are talking to their lawyer for a possible case against them; but I ask you..HOW in the HELL am I going to win against WalMart?? I haven't a chance; a snowball in HELL has more of a chance to win than I do!

People have told me that I had been doing great, what with me working and stuff, but now they see I am depressed. Well? Wouldn't YOU be if you were unfairly terminated from a job where you did NOTHING wrong?? Then they wonder why I am so busy pounding the streets each and every day, looking for work! So far, I've found ZILCH, and I am sick and tired of this stupid economy; this economy here SUCKS!!

I am TRYING like hell to keep a positive attitude, but people DON'T want to give me a break, and I am tired of having to "prove myself" to others just because I happen to have a g.d. disability! Oh, that really BURNS me up!!

I may be down right now, but I am NOT going to give in and wallow in my self-pity. I have done that in the past, and I am NOT doing it again! So don't count me out, folks, because I am a FIGHTER, and I am NOT giving up hopes in finding another job!!

~Love, Melizza. :(
