The Sanduskys weren't the only ones to visit the fair. M'buti and Roberto Sormiento had their turn as well at the fair. Here is a fair guide as viewed by M'buti...
We went to the fair here in Nashville today, and I am absolutely ~wiped~. Between chasing Jubaki all over the grounds (he kept wanting to run off at any chance he had; you know how active little boys are) and taking care of the "big kid" (Roberto, my husband), I don't know who had more of a workout..Jubaki, Roberto, or me.
It was crowded, but the weather was beautiful: partly cloudy with pleasant, warm temperatures in the mid 70's, ideal early fall weather. We couldn't have asked for better weather to take a trip to the fair.
Jubaki behaved himself (for the ~MOST~ part!), and I was really proud of him; he is such a good-natured and well-mannered little boy, and he was curious about everything that went on around him. I did keep telling him to keep by our side, as he kept wanting to look at all the "cool cars", and he kept wanting to climb into the Hummers they had on display at the car show. Roberto ended up having to use the leash on him, just so he would not run off. Of course he cried, but then he knew he had to stay with mama and papa, or he could very easily get lost (or even hurt) in the crowd of people.
Roberto was all fired up; he wanted to ride the rides. Of course, he tried to get me on some of them, but I gave him a dirty look, and I told him if he so as much got me on one ride, I was going to divorce him. I wasn't about to have him scare the living shit out of me again, like he did last year (and the year before), when we went to Ohio to visit Cedar Point. He got me on two roller coasters, and to this day, I can't even stand to look at them, even on television. All it does is cause me to get nauseated, and all the bad memories come rushing back; and then I have to have those stupid nightmares again. Of course, HE thinks it is funny, but I don't. What is he trying to do? Finish me OFF??
Roberto has always been a fan of thrill-rides, and the wilder they look, the more he wants to ride them. I honestly ~DON'T~ see what he gets out of riding something that looks like it is going to kill a person, let alone, throw them right off; but he has always loved those rides! He says it is like surfing on dry land, and I look at him like he has horns growing out of his head! Personally, as for me, I'd much rather keep my feet on the ground..and the food in my stomach, thank you very much!
I mean, WHY ride something if it is going to make you sick? What is the joy out of throwing up?? To me, getting sick on a ride is probably the LAST thing I would want to do!!
Louie and her family went to the fair last week, and they had fun; they said we had to go. Which is why we are here now. It is Handicapped Citizen's Day at the fair, and all people in wheelchairs or have disabilities are let in free. They are probably here too, but so far, I haven't seen them. They saw a tall blonde man singer named Alan Jackson, and they also rode rides (good for them; that is something I will ~NOT~ do, not ever since Roberto tried to kill me on those stupid roller coasters!) and ate the fair food.
Roberto is riding the rides, but Jubaki and myself are just enjoying the people and the exhibit places. We also eat whenever we get hungry (and with Jubaki, that is often; that child eats more like a HORSE than a little boy; he is ALWAYS hungry, it seems!). I do not watch my husband on the rides because the very sight of the rides flipping in the air and hearing the people screaming on the rides makes me ill, and my stomach just can't take it. I can't imagine my husband on one of those flippy things; it's a wonder he doesn't fall out of the fucking ride!
*poor m'buti* she reaaaaaaallly can't forgive roberto for getting her on those wild and woolly rollercoasters, can't she? *can't say i'd blame her LOL*
great, festive write
(((HUGS))) and love,
karla. :)

Another good write about the atmosphere of the fair.
I'm so glad you are enjoying the fair, even without getting on the ride with Roberto. Oh I'm also afraid of the rollercoasters too. My knees went weak the last time I rode on it. Pretty scary!!!!!
This is another excellent piece, God Bless
