I have done my best never to give all the information about my subjects or characters at one time. I like to drag it out and encourage the reader to assume, interpret, and generally keep sliding the pieces together until something fits. This is the fourth book in this series and there is only one more to go, but I have still left enough questions unanswered for you to put your own story into mine as you try to make the puzzle fit.
In this fourth book, there will be times when you are sure that the next sentence will spell out what you already assume, only to find the answer is not forthcoming. Even though your guess is most likely correct, I do my best not to confirm it until I am ready. This is the case with Harry and Monayya, and Harry and his relatives. I want to leave the door open.
I like to keep lining up the clues and then when the answer is within sight, I try to stretch it out and add a possible new twist such as with the stones that were first found as ceremonial symbols of the Indians on the ranchlands – keep reading and you will see what they truly are.
It gives me great pleasure to think that I have accomplished my goals in producing a book that has no answers, but opens your mind to many questions –questions that may relate to your life and experiences, rather than that of mine.
By the time you get to this fourth book, you will be creating stories of your own out of my material. You will be filling in the gaps and producing solutions where I have given none.
As always, I wish you the best and hope you enjoy reading what I have written as much as I have enjoyed writing. I doubt that any will predict the book to follow which I consider to be a great follow up on these humble beginnings.
