Writing about the process also helped me to heal. Keeping a journal is an easy and inexpensive way for anyone to promote emotional health since it gives a person a safe place to express feelings. The night I came home from surgery, my dream world told me that I was to write my doctoral thesis on the topic of breast cancer and to focus all my energies on my own healing, documenting everything I went through, using my direct experience of breast cancer as the entry point into writing about this disease....
I hope that through reading this book, other women may grow to become more loving to themselves and might go through the initiation into the "Wise Woman" phase of womanhood without getting cancer or chemotherapy.
