Samantha Bower is a senior in high school with a bright future ahead of her. She'll be graduating in a few weeks, and then it's off to college, but first there's the prom. Samantha, or Sammy as she likes to be called, has looked forward to going to the prom for as long as she can remember. She's envisioned a night of magic with her boyfriend Mark, and all of their friends. When her strict parents take away her curfew she's sure her dreams will come true. Fate had other ideas. How will the choices she made one night affect the rest of her life? Only time will tell.

Where is everybody?" Cindy screamed as she banged violently on the desk."I need help!"
A short, plump woman with graying short hair came running up behind the counter. She looked slightly frazzled, but remained a calm tone as she said, "What's your emergency?"
"My daughter, Samantha," was all Cindy could manage to say before she broke down.
The woman looked around the waiting room, and then turned her attention back to Cindy, "Where is your daughter?"
In between sobs Cindy answered, "I don't know. I got a phone call saying she was brought in to this hospital."
"What's your daughter's name?" The woman asked.
"Samantha Claire Bowyer." Cindy responded. "We call her Sammy." She added.
The woman put the name into a computer and calmly said, "Your daughter is in surgery."
"What?" Was all Cindy could say before the next flood of tears came.
"She's in surgery." The woman behind the desk repeated.
"What happened?" Cindy asked between sobs.
