Adalynn, an 18 year old who is just about to graduate high school, has a serious problem. The world seems to have turned cold and black on her. She strongly questions society, religion, the education system, the government, and everything else that lacks compassion and love. Determined to make a stand and fight for what she believes in, Adalynn tries to break out of her shell. She has been alienated all her life by her peers and family, and now she finds it hard to relate to anyone and speak up so that her voice can be heard. A chance encounter leads her to meet a humble homeless boy, Eden, who happens to share her same ideals. As the two join forces and try to make a stand, their feelings for each other grow as they teach each other and show one another the beauty in the world.

Excerpt
Prologue:
The world was upside down.
The ground was a creamy sea of blue, littered by sporadic puffs of white. A flock of black birds danced around my feet, making a small grin pull its way across my chapped lips. I strained my eyes to look up at the lush green grass that made up the sky and watched as a tree swayed in the breeze, stretching its limbs in the invisible current as if it just woke up. I wondered idly if trees slept, but my thoughts were cut off by the intense throbbing in my head.
My blood pumped loudly in my ears, and my face was hot and pounding with pressure as my toes grew cold, life dripping away from them. I sighed, then bent my knees, allowing my body to collapse. I laughed as I sprawled out in the grass, which was the ground again, and grabbed my spinning head.
Just like that, my fantasy world disappeared. Everything was like it always had been. The sky was blue. The grass was green and under my feet where it belonged. The world wasn't upside down, I was, and my imagination took off like it always did. Reality was always slipping away from me.
It's funny, how something can seem so real, so tangible, when in truth it's all in your head.
