Lily is Rose's best friend in "The
Rose Series." She is s single mother and works as a nurse. She and her baby, Anna Rose, move to Bristol, Virginia to begin a new life. Doug, her former husband, reappears, much to her dismay. A mysterious half sister appears and makes plans to take out her revenge on Lily. Most of the characters from "the Rose Series' are in or mentioned in the book.
Although Lily's Story is not included in the Rose Series, it continues the story of Rose through the life story of Lily. Lily, as a single mother in the 1960s encounters situations and problems foreign to Rose and other family members. She is courted by three very good men.T this dilemma carries the main theme of the book as she weighs each one's strengths and weaknesses.
