INTRODUCTION

            The active Amber Hill neighborhood of ideal parents and rambunctious children are all whispering and scratching their heads concerning the rumor about Percy.

            Percy Winston Bainsfield is a ten year old who loves roller coasters and is the neighborhood prankster.  He is a favorite of the parents and best buddy with the kids.  He loves having fun and playing jokes but is never mean or malicious.  He is precocious, inquisitive and very mechanical minded, especially when it comes to his passion, roller coasters.  Percy and his family have traveled around the world looking at, riding on, and designing roller coasters. 

Preston Churchill Bainsfield is a mechanical and structural engineer, a well-known and respected expert in the design and building of roller coasters.  He immigrated to the U.S. when he was eighteen to study at MIT, much to the disappointment of his father who thought he should go into the family banking business in London.  Preston loved numbers but just not on bank ledgers.  He has taken his family to China, France, and England where he has designed and then supervised the building of fantastic roller coasters. Percy inherited his father’s love of math and design.

Luella Emily Bainsfield, called Ella by family and friends, is an artist and graphic designer.  She and Preston met in college and discovered they complimented each other in every way.  They collaborate, him designing and supervising the building of coasters and her doing the graphics and artwork for display.

Victoria Elizabeth Bainsfield, Vickie, is the female version of her twin, Percy.  Vickie has inherited her mother’s flair for art.  The twins share a unique connection that so many twins have.
