THE LACED CHAMELEON is an engaging historical novel with intergenerational appeal. Set in 1862 New Orleans during Union Army occupation, it is extraordinarily compelling, yet believable, throughout. The author's vivid, seamlessly integrated descriptions of each character and narrative situation immediately draw his "audience" inside for a deeply satisfying, front-row-center, literary experience. Rogers' intricate familiarity with the times, places, and situations portrayed in this impressive work becomes increasingly evident as the storyline develops--eliciting this reviewer's genuine appreciation for his optimal mastery of narrative writing.
