I asked. They answered. Now you can join the fun! You’ll love reading opinions from ordinary guys and gals on all of your most urgent relationship questions. These no-holds-barred opinions are funny, insightful and truly authentic. Plus they’re presented in a “can’t put it down” format. You'll see!

Bonus alert: Before you peek at the responses, take a minute to write your own “his and her” responses to each question.

Answers to your dating questions, space to add your two cents, a sweet way to learn what’s on your special person’s mind, what's not to love?

P.S. Singles of any age who find the "dating game" challenging will find answers here. But one couple we know who has been married for years spent “date night” on the living room couch laughing and debating over this book …

A few years ago some friends and I were sitting in one our favorite restaurants dishing about how differently men and women think regarding love, dating, and relationships.  I went home that night and made up a survey of our favorite questions and sent it out to everyone I knew.  And they sent it to people and they sent it to more people.

What struck me, as the surveys came pouring in from all over the country, was how real they were.  And how these guys and gals were the kind of people you could meet on a Saturday night.

On a mission now to find out what people really thought about questions like "Do nice guys and gals finish last?", I began stopping people in the mall, in restaurant waiting lines, and even in the ladies rest room at a 4 star hotel.

I decided this was too good to keep to myself.  Maybe I should publish it somehow.  Now you can read our questions and their answers.  And they are funny and insightful.  Plus you'll laugh out loud at the uninhibited frankness of their remarks.

People love this book!

Excerpt

Read before you peek…

Don’t look for recognizable experts in the field of male/female relationships or academic initials behind the names of the people quoted in this book.

These people are not from Mars or Venus. They are from the planet Earth.

They don’t offer rules, because they’re not sure if there are any that work.

They would love to marry a millionaire, but they keep forgetting how to do it.

They looked for love in all the wrong places when the right places didn’t turn up much. More often than not, when it did happen, love just found them.

They are more perplexed than positive. Some are just trying to get by.

So these guys and gals are not back in the lab concocting solutions for the world’s relationship problems. They’re out in the field doing “reality research”. On the front lines every day and every night, God love ’em. They have the scars to show it. They wear them proudly. They offer their opinions in the same way.

Don’t expect a scientific approach either. Wild-assed, wide-eyed, gut-level opinions are what count here, not numbers or percentages. These opinions are as varied as the people who have ventured them.

No attempts were made to include anyone average, representative, or even sane.

What will you find? The real skinny from real people. Why do you care? Because, like me, you are dying to know everything you can about what goes on in the head of the opposite sex. And you want to hear it from a person you just might meet some day. Not some expert you don’t even know!

From where I stand, there are no boring responses in this book. I was merciless with the DELETE button. Wishy-washy? DEL. Wimpy? DEL. Too many “on the other hands”? DEL I figured neither of us cared to waste our time with the truly un-opinionated. We want to know what people really think.

You’ll find it here.

I asked each person to respond only to questions on which they had a strong internal desire to speak out. So not every person answered every question.

In fact, you’ll see some questions with more responses from one gender than the other. The guys wouldn’t touch the “What would you change about women?” question with a ten-foot pole!)

Notice too, that while their names may be fictional, their occupations, ages, and the towns in which they were raised are true. So when you ask, “Where in the heck would someone come up with a crazy idea like that?” you’ll know the answer.

And, while I wouldn’t dare to comment on other people’s opinions, I can’t say the same for my friend, Zelda, who is not so “p.c.” And the clams? They were only supposed to sum up stuff, but, well, you’ll see…

Interested in what your special person thinks when it comes to love’s burning questions?

You’ll find this book a handy way to get inside somebody’s head. Or start a conversation that needs to happen. You may want to answer each question alone and compare responses. Assuming you’re still speaking, of course.

Want to know what you need to know before you decide to marry this incredible human being with whom you are so taken? You've come to the right place.

Fact is you won’t get this stuff in a marriage manual.

So have fun. Use this book to spark conversations that provide a path to real intimacy for you and someone special. Or destroy what seemed to be a perfectly good relationship.

Don’t blame me if you find out something you didn't want to know after all. Better now than on what one of my girlfriends calls “attorney time”.

Or, maybe you’re just looking to stir up some fun?

Use the questions as conversation starters with friends over nachos. But be prepared!

I hosted group discussions of the questions to see which ones interested my male and female friends. Who would have thought that such refined people could be so rowdy?

And pick a restaurant or bar where the tables are not too close together. Otherwise you’ll have to deal with interlopers wanting to chime in. And the waiters, who would have thought they would have so much to say about the subject?

Whatever you do…

I want to hear about it. I’m from Louisiana and we love stories. Contact me at kat@myrelationshipquestions.com.

Despite my best efforts on your behalf, I can’t guarantee that you will ferret out the crazy stuff going on inside your special person’s head. I can’t be responsible for the person with whom you choose to consort. But, and trust me on this one, you will know more than you did before you picked up this book.

Even I learned a few things, and the opposite sex has been my favorite research topic since Sister Genevieve’s fourth grade class.

Enjoy.

P.S. For all who asked, yes, Kevin O is still happily married, but I’ll keep you posted.

Question # 1:

What does it mean when a guy says, at the end of (what a neutral observer of either gender would classify as) a “great date”, that he will call the next day and is never heard from again?

Or calls two months later with a “weenie” reason for waiting so long?

I’m glad I started with this question because it really “warmed up the crowd”. I expected it from the gals, but even the guys had little compassion for the “promise and poop out” dater.

And the call two months later? Forget about it. These guys are not much for second chances.

By the way, online daters tell me this is a gender-neutral issue, that women will totally lead men to believe they would like to see them again, but drop out of sight immediately after the first date. And yes, when the rich guy with the yacht turns out to be older than Hefner, they also attempt to re-connect.

Maybe in the end, though, it’s a lot more about timing than two-timing. Just because it’s a hobby of yours, falling in love at first sight isn’t for everyone.
