A step-by-step daily guide to getting your ideal job now, written by a highly successful career consultant.
Kat has helped hundreds of sucessful job seekers at every level and in most industries, in her role as managing career consultant of the DBM Houston office and, over the years, as her own career as a CPA and employee performance consultant with Fortune 150 companies blossomed.
Her clients got the jobs they deserved. When she analyzed why she was able make a positive difference in her clients' job search success (especially those who had been in a job search for a long time), she realized it was because she encouraged them to use her proven process.
Her conclusion? When you need a job, you need a plan. So her next step was simple. She recorded her highly effective, step-by-step plan in an easy-to-follow guide. This little book has the power to change your life.
To make it accessible and affordable for job seekers, she kept How to Get a Job in 90 Days brief and published it in both ebook and paperback formats. And created a resource website for help in completing the tasks: http://www.getajobin90days.com.
Need a job now? Finally, you have a plan.
Excerpt
Far too many skilled, hard-working people are either unemployed or under-employed. I’m assuming you are one of them since you purchased this book. I’m frustrated that you’re not experiencing the gratification of getting paid to do what you do best. And I’m heartbroken that, when so many are finally back at work, you are out there, trying your best to get a job that might seem just out of reach, or even worse, non-existent.
I want to do something about that. So I wrote this book.
IF you complete the tasks that follow, and you have the skills and experience for the job you want, you have a very, very good chance of getting that job. And, if your job is not your ideal job, it will be close and one that will get your career back on track.
For many of you, that “IF” at the start of the last paragraph is a big deal. You might find it daunting to complete the tasks. (Did I mention that each task is critical or it wouldn’t have been included in this book?) Inevitably, you’ll find yourself wanting to skip the ones that seem boring, pointless, redundant, or even impossible. Here’s the good news: your competition will feel the same way. And they will skip the tasks. But you won’t. And you’ll get the job.
Sample tasks:
Day #18: Create a Target Company List
1. Make a list of companies that fit your Ideal Work Situation Statements. Include:
a. Major employers in your industry in your geographical area
b. Employers noted for providing benefits or hiring persons aligned with your objectives
c. Employers suggested by your Board of Advisors and network
d. Employers recommended as “Best Places to Work” or that otherwise feature indications of suitability or desirability
2. Send a copy of your Target Company List to your Board of Advisors with two questions:
a. What companies would they add?
b. Do they have contacts or other types of leads related to any of the listed companies?
Once you have completed this task, move to the next day’s task.
