Both time and tide are forever Changing. Born in 1906, on a sugarcane farm on Petrie Creek Nambour, Vic Perren lived to the age of 94. His father was a boatbuilder so fishing became a way of life while the Perren family lived off the plentiful supplies of fish in the Maroochy River.
The old man who loved the sea tells his story of the growth of the Moreton District, from the first inhabitants, the Gubbi Gubbi people, to the busy metropolis now known as the 'Beautiful' Sunshine Coast of Queensland.
Through war and depression, Vic was forever passionate about the rivers and the sea. Through humour, legends and myths, Vic's story is accompanied by an abundance of beautiful images.
