Unchained Spirits is about two sisters, Brandy and Sky, who have been left in the care of their abusive siblings. Brandy retaliates and runs away; Sky allows her spiritual visions to find her sister. The two girls embark on a frightening adventure while their siblings close in on them in hot pursuit. They explore the city by day, sleep on graves at night, and take flight through many perilous adventures. They experience the tough streets, the rage of a hurricane, and the spirits that walk among us. Will they be caught and somehow escape? While in the midst of surviving and fighting for their freedom, they discover love and compassion.
PETER WHITFIELD dies, leaving behind his wife Christina, five grown children, and two younger daughters Brandy and Sky. Spirits of the dead have haunted the youngest daughter Sky, since birth. To rid the spirits from around her, Christina tosses Sky across Peter's coffin. She finds out that the tradition did not take affect, when the clock begins to strike, and Sky comes running through the house yelling that her Papa has returned.
Christina starts a new life for herself and decides to leave the country. She leaves behind Brandy and Sky now teenagers, to be cared for, by their eldest sister Katie. Instead, they are forced to live with their evil sister Elizabeth. Not long after Brandy runs away, Sky allows her spiritual visions to guide her to Brandy. Elizabeth shows up in hot pursuit with the Authorities. This begins the two sisters frightening adventures.
They explore the city by day and fight the cruel streets, shun the bullets that flew through the air, battle the furious hurricane, jump off buildings and over fences, slept on graves and in the mist they found love and forgiveness.

Miffed with her actions Sky began ranting, “How stupid. How stupid can
I be?” Sky said. She turned the corner of the street, out of ear’s reach of the
crowd; her voice began to rise. “How could I’ve gotten into a fight with Connie,
the biggest bully in this neighborhood? How stupid! Shit! She probably went
home to get her brothers. How am I going to fight them all? How dumb.” She
heard someone yelling behind her.
It was Alex running toward her. “Wait up, Sky. Wait up.”
“Leave me alone, Alex; just leave me alone.”
“Sky, just wait a minute.” Alex placed his hand on her shoulder. “Wait. I
just wanted to say that you’re bleeding.”
“I’m not bleeding! What are you talking about, Alex?”
“There’s a lot of blood on the street. Your hand, Sky. Look at you hand. It’s
bleeding.”
Sky looked at her hand.
“No. The other one.”
She lifted her left hand; the blood was gushing out. “Get away from me,
Alex!”
“No. I want to help you.”
Sky pushed Alex away from her. “I said, get away from me. Go back to
your friends.”
“I’m your friend, too.”
“Well, I’m not your friend, Alex, so get away from me.”
Alex threw his hands in the air. “If that’s what you want. Fine!”
Sky watched Alex walking back down the street with his head lowered. He
turned the corner, and he was gone. Her head began to spin. She turned around
and blinked her eyes twice. She looked at her surroundings; the street that was
deserted just a few moments ago was now filled with people. The houses
seemed to have grown taller, and everything seemed to have taken on a life
of its own. She blinked her eyes again, took two steps, and held her forehead.
The street seemed to be broadening and diminishing, everything closing in on
her, and then faraway, faster and faster. The people seemed to be disappearing
one by one as they passed by. Some of them smiled, nodded at her, and walked
right through her as if she didn’t exist. Sky shook her head. “What the hell is
going on?” she said out loud. She held her head and stared at the gust of white
clouds heading toward her. She collapsed to her knees. “What’s happening?”
Sky pushed herself up from the ground, staggered to the side of the street, to
the fence, she held on tightly to the boards. “Oh, God, is this it? Am I going to
die?” She looked around; the area was now consumed with white smoke. “I’ve
got to get to Katie’s,” she said. Sky released her grip from the board, and fell
to the ground once again. A few moments passed, and she raised her body and
knelt on her knees with the palm of her hands bracing the ground and said,
“Papa, where are you? You promised you’d help me. Where are you?”
