A hidden prophecy can light the darkness.
Two estranged sisters. One prophetic heirloom. A world on the brink of darkness.
Born in Brody, Poland, Eva Siegling and Freda Behm were once inseparable—until jealousy splintered their bond. Eva, haunted by visions, marries Gustav, a Jewish professor dismissed from Freiburg University as Hitler rises to power. With nowhere else to turn, Eva and Gustav flee to Brooklyn, seeking shelter with Freda, now a disillusioned theater singer. Their reunion is brittle, shadowed by old wounds and unspoken grief.
The only thread still binding them is a golden menorah—cast during the Spanish Inquisition by a rabbi who may have embedded within it a prophecy meant to sustain the persecuted. When the menorah is stolen, its absence ignites a search led by private investigator Lee Marshall, plunging him into a web of murder, Nazi occult obsession, and the violent underworld of Murder Incorporated. Every hand that seizes it for power, profit, or ideology pays a price. Through every theft, every death, every failed attempt to control it, the menorah exposes the darkness in those who covet it—and preserves the hope of those who honor it.
Stolen Light is a haunting tale of fractured family, prophetic legacy, and the fragile hope that flickers even in history’s darkest hour.

Freiburg, Germany
Late April 1933
Dearest Freda,
It has begun. Since his appointment in January, Chancellor Hitler has influenced von Hindenburg to enact new laws that will exclude Jews and political opponents of the Nazi Party. It has already been a month since Gustav was dismissed from his position at Freiburg University, and now even his goyim friends like Martin Heidegger have turned indifferent towards the Jewish professors. It has become dangerous to be a Jew in Freiburg. Einstein wrote to Max Born advising him to leave Germany with his family as soon as possible because the window for Jews to travel will soon close. He told Max that the Nazi’s ransacked his home confiscating all his belongings. He has publicly denounced the Hitler regime. Max asked us to come with him, but we refused. He is going to England, and we to the United States, to be with you, our family. Thank Ishak for sending the affidavits to the American Consulate. I will send you our travel arrangements once we book them. We will bring the artifact with us when we leave. You know the danger involved since the Nazi’s have been seizing Jewish properties of value. Our trust is in ‘El Roi’.
My love to you and Ishak,
Your loving sister,
Eva
