Introduction
In today’s world I feel that most people are not aware or understand the true definition of what a blessing is. Some people look at it from a Biblical standpoint. Others seem to define it from a cultural standpoint. Whatever which way you want to look at it, be aware that sometimes certain situations in life never are as they appear. It’s like the small print on the side mirrors of a car where it says “Objects in Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear.” I feel life is kind of the same. As I look into that side mirror, I sometimes feel it says “Life in this Mirror Is Different than It Appears”. I believe that we are all on this earth with a purpose and that there is a direction we are designed to follow. Regardless if it’s a path, a goal, a dream, or a destiny we are all instructed somehow deep inside of us to go in a specific direction. It seems like there is always something pushing us, nudging us, poking us to continue to move forward. The problem that we are faced with is not knowing what our end result is. What is that light at the end of the tunnel? Is there a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Am I going in the right direction? Once an individual gets past these roadblocks and reaches what he or she assumed is their final destination the question arises, is that it? Is this the blessing I have been waiting for? Is there more?
With that being said I am going to take this opportunity to describe what I call the Greatest Painful Blessings. What you are about to read are true short stories of individuals who went through serious and dramatic life journeys and somehow at the end called it a blessing. These stories give a whole new meaning to the saying “Everything Happens for a Reason.” Due to the nature of these stories people’s names and locations were altered to honor the request to stay anonymous.
